!Oc x Canon content ahead, you have been warned!
Fighting - Hylazu/Azulai
They fought.
It wasnât news; yes, they were a happy couple, but they fought frequently.
Or at least it seemed like they fought frequently, because there were serious fights and silly fights.
Everyone knew the difference.
Because the serious fights were the ones followed by silence, the ones that they didnât talk of, the ones were they took their time apart.
Because they fought frequently, but rarely seriously.
Hylai was particular, Azul knew.
Hylai was one to wear his heart on his sleeve, but his real heart on his chest, hidden from view, secret.
Yet, Azul had always saw both.
Azul was particular on his own, and Hylai knew.
Azul was one to put on a facade and a smile, always thinking of ways to outsmart you.
Yet, Hylai had always seen behind his schemes.
Both knew each otherâs hearts well.
But Hylai never truly learned how to love right.
Hylai grew up with a form of love that wasnât love, bound by shackles of never truly being loved for himself but for what he represented and what he offered.
Hylai hid it, but he was insecure, and insecurity causes jealousy.
Itâs not like Azul wasnât insecure as well, no; he had been bullied all his youth, he had always carried the burden of trying to be perfect, but he knew Hylai and knew how much Hylai loved him, so jealousy was something that didnât easily come as well.
Maybe it was because of the fact that they were so similar in those aspects that Azul didnât understand why Hylai felt that way.
They were so different yet so alike.
And that was why when they fought about Hylaiâs jealousy and insecurities, Hylai made his walls go up, walls Azul had peeled of so carefully and slowly.
Hylai was truly scared of being left alone again, and Azul knew.
But Azul also wanted to help Hylai understand how love without strings worked, which was rich coming from Azul, who always had strings attached.
But not with love.
Azul was always aware that he needed to be patient with his lover, and he was an all-so patient, love fool.
But he couldnât be always patient, and he knew that if he always was, Hylai would never learn.
And deep down, Hylai knew too.
So when they fought, Hylai was always the first that left and the first that returned with his tail between his legs.
Because if Azul knew something that other didnât, was that Hylai needed space to reflect that came without the strings attached, without being rushed, without being left.
They then talked it trough when Hylai came to his senses, and Hylai promised heâd do better, because he really wanted to do better, but it was a slow process.
But there were progress indeed.
And Azul knew how much his angelfish was putting effort about becoming better in those aspects.
So Azul waited again, like he always waited, because he knew his lover would come back right between his arms.
After all, they were each otherâs only safe space.
They were each otherâs only true puzzle pieces.
And puzzle pieces always found a way back to each other.
I love my lil babies so much
SHIHISHISHISHI
Prob will write another silly lil thing again like this, I didnât even proofread it so if there are mistakes donât mind them
