Listen up! Congress is currently drafting a brand new version of US copyright law that would effectively strip all copyright protection from every artist, author, or other content creator. This would theoretically apply to every US citizen, AND would have a profound impact on international content creators whose work is used in the US.

We have until THURSDAY, JULY 23, 2015 to submit letters of opposition to the US Copyright Office.

Heavy response from artists worked when they tried to pass a similar bill in the past, so don’t think your voice doesn’t matter! Please write a letter to the copyright office telling them about why this is a terrible idea!

Just preregistered for WTFur 2015

This'll be my very first furry convention. Actually, my very first convention in general. It's all the way in May, but I'm sure it'll creep up on me fast. These things do that. In previous years WTFur was apparently held downtown, but now it'll be in the Holiday Inn right in Pointe-Claire next to the very large Fairview shopping centre. They couldn't have picked a better place. Not just sayin' that 'cause they're totally right in my neighbourhood. There's tons of stuff to do nearby, and restaurants for any budget. There's also a lovely bar a little walk away. That'll be amusing, I'm sure...

My plan for the first year is just to wander around and get a feel for things, meet new people, and check out whatever a convention has to offer. I'm already finding myself thinking ahead to the years to come. The possibility of doing a panel, joining the dealers, putting on a performance, etc. Who knows? I joined the community with the intention of contributing. It's exciting to think about.

An organized new year

There is a great temptation to explain away my lack of productivity online this past year. Between offline issues getting in the way and just my lack of organization. Probably more of the latter. 

It's frustrating sometimes. I thankfully don't consider myself to be one of those people who dream big and leave it at that. In fact, starting is not even the hard part; I've started most of my projects. Even continuing is not hard. I'm not a lazy or unmotivated person. What's hard is staying focused on one thing at a time. I have so much I want to do and as of this year, all of the means to do it (which is very exciting!), but the one thing I lack is organization and time management. 

So, you guessed it. My New Year's Resolution is to be more organized. To aid me in my quest for a more organized life, I will be using Wunderlist. Fantastic task management software and free!

I will also abuse my integrity because it's a surefire way to give me a kick in the butt to get stuff done. By this, I mean promises. I always keep my promises.

For NintyFresh:

Goal: 10 sheets a month

Promise: 100 sheets for 2013

Promise: I will have a webcomic in the new year

So, here's to productive new year!

Doodling vs Drawing

When I was young, people would often ask, "Are you going to be an artist when you grow up?" My answer would always be the same. "No." I didn't know what it was at the time. Maybe I didn't like the idea of doing art under someone, or mixing work with pleasure. In any case, I did not like the idea of being an artist for a living. The reason for this has only occurred to me many years later. As someone who enjoys thorough planning, there is an area of my life which I've left almost entirely up to spontaneity. That area is anything involving art. The way a pianist would improvise on a theme is very much the way I'd go about drawing, or doodling I should say. It'd be mindless. A way of fidgeting. I could substitute it for mindlessly tapping on a desk. My doodles just happened to be more complex than stars or stickmen, which lead many to assume I was headed the direction of becoming an artist. I didn't wanna be an artist because I didn't know how to make a planned drawing. What am I getting at? Well, I am now in the odd predicament of wanting to actually use my supposed art talents I've been told to possess all these years. The problem? I can't draw a planned out picture for the life of me. My doodles look better than my drawings. Learning how to draw isn't hard. When I practice, I improve satisfyingly fast, but it's the whole planning aspect that eludes me.  Anyway, I know I'll get over this interesting hurdle. Just saying where I'm at. Until next time ~

Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I will share my thoughts, ideas, and dreams. Some of these may involve pictures, some music, and whatever other medium I decide to use here. 

The title of blog originally came from the name of a song brought up in a conversation with a close friend of mine, though I confess, I haven't actually listened to it yet. Given my fascination for dreams, particularly the lucid kind, and my wild imagination, the title alone was fitting.

I had too much to dream last night and I'm ready to share it with you all. Hope you enjoy.
