I personally would enjoy Celestine fusions if you want to draw them! At least with Bluebird maybe, because she seems to be the one that was the most attached to Celestine, but any of them would be nice! Also just as a side note Celestine is gorgeous I love how you designed her

Yeah I wouldn't be against it at some point in the future, even though I rarely have the motivation for SU. If anyone has specific gem name recs for those, feel free to shout em out.

I do have some of the Steven+CG fusions laying around from Patreon, it's been long enough that I could post some of those if y'all wanted to see them.

Also 🥰 Celestine was fun to design, the Blue gems in general are really enjoyable haha

i have a few questions cus i lpve this au... could we see more of pink & spinel? i love their threatening/scary vibes toward steven ;___; also your designs are super awesome for them (& everybody but i LOVE theirs). & what was blue’s motivation for rebelling?? & one last one — are we gonna get to see any celestine fusions or just steven fusions?

1) YES I will have more Pink+Spinel double trouble in the future they’re both very fun and I want to play more with Spinel’s sad clown motif some more so there’ll for sure be more of her 

2) IT WILL BE EXPLAINED I have a really big post about it coming at some point and if my motivation ever gets strong enough MAYBE. MAYBE I will make a comic or something similar about it. Not a long form thing but something shorter. Maybe. 

3) do u guys WANT Celestine fusions??? I have all the Steven/CG fusions + stevonnie .... I would be up for designing Celestine fusions if there’s demand for seeing them , hmm

I've been wondering this for a while now, but in the White!Steven comic have Jasper's, Peridot's and Lapis' roles been switched? Like since Jasper was the one that was captured and Lapis and Peridot were the ones to escape, does that mean they switched roles? With Jasper taking Peridot's role? Lapis taking Japser's role? And Peridot taking Lapis' role?

I don’t think it’s quite that simple.

I understand that it’s tempting to want to stick characters into set ‘roles’ from canon, but in my opinion it’s not good storywriting. It sets rigid expectations, and binds characters to a set of choices instead of exploring their own unique ‘role’ under very different AU circumstances. 

I would say that no one is an ANYONE’s role. They’re all their own gems, and they have their own role.

Jasper wouldn’t react the same way that Peridot does. Lapis and Peridot have different motivations for fusing than Jasper and Lapis did. Lapis’ conflict is inherently too different to be compared usefully to Jasper’s - and Peridot’s character development will never fulfil the same space as Lapis’ did. 

If anything, I’m trying to keep their roles as close to canon as possible. 

Jasper is and always will be the antagonist that struggles internally with being ‘the perfect quartz’ and having incredibly high expectations for herself and others. 

Lapis is and always will be the gem that’s deeply traumatized by being trapped - to the extent that she is willing to become the one who traps in order to retain some semblance of control over her life. 

Peridot and her trust of Homeworld society is still going to need to be broken down and rebuilt from the ground up so she can grow and realize that what she’s known is wrong, and there are other ways to exist except for to be trapped within something so rigid. 

The ways these characters will come to those arcs is different from canon, this is true, and there are many similarities between those circumstances when compared to other canon characters! But that doesn’t mean they automatically will fill that ‘role’. Not if it’s antithetical to who they are as a person/gem.

Do you think there could be aus where steven mom isn’t a diamond I’m asking because most aus his mom is one of the other diamonds?

Okay I do need to stress at this point: in no way am I an authority on the Rules Of AUs this happened on my TBOI blog too GUYS there’s no right way to make an au and i’m DEFINITELY not the person to deem what would be the right way anyway  But yeah if you wanted to make an au like that absolutely , do it, nothing is stopping you

Do you have any plans for jasper in this au

Idk not really ????????? Nothing beyond general plot anyway, her actions don’t change TOO much, just the motives behind them. 

Jasper has less of a personal vendetta against Steven + the CGs because her Diamond never gets shattered. Her reason for being the one to show up to Earth is based more in how her Diamond handles the repossession of a planet that SHOULD have been hers. Less a revenge mission and more a crusade for Pink’s favor, you know? So while she’d still show up with the same general goal (clearing out the CGs), it’s not because they personally killed someone she cared about. 

I think that she might be less destructive because of that? Still a giant ball of force, but more one that stops before it goes careening off a cliff.

Do you pick the crystal gems based on who the diamonds would know in canon?

I think that’s one way to do it! I don’t, personally, not always. 

For blueniverse, they would all be gems from Blue’s court, yeah, but it’s more... who would be the most knowledgeable/benefit the most from Blue’s rebellion. 

Pearl’s something of an obvious choice- Purely based on how Blue plans to disappear, Pearl would have to be there. That also opens up for some interesting plot points- between Blue’s disappearance and Celestine occupying Earth, it was assumed Pearl was lost with Blue- so why is she here on Earth, with the Rebellion? Did she have something to do with it? Conflict ensues. Probably why Jasp and co. have a reason to go to Earth, actually! 

Sapphire was likely aware of Blue’s plans, which is most of the reason she’s present. Since there’s no Garnet event, there’s no ‘ah i must rebel for reasons homeworld wouldn’t approve of’ plot point. I like to think she develops a bit of a fascination with the future as time goes on, and that’s why she opts to follow Celestine. 

Now Bluebird is the ‘ah i must rebel for reasons homeworld wouldn’t approve of’ one. She fuses before Blue goes missing, but after Sapphire has been brought into the fold (which is how Blue finds out in the first place). Bluebird’s reason for staying is purely emotional- Celestine gave her attention in a way that felt different and better than the distant approval of a superior.  [ Here’s a little sketch from something related jus for u guys ]

AS FOR THE YELLOW AU....... it’s just my favorites. They both happen to be in Yellow’s court and i was like >:) nice. I’m actually considering adding a third based on this very shallow parameter so it’s just a bunch of my faves all in one spot.
