For some reason in S1E21 Hyde wears a pair of tan suede desert boots, probably made by Clarks, instead of his signature campus boots. Throughout season 1 Hyde wears a few different pairs of shoes including his basketball shoes, his snow boots borrowed from his “uncle”, and the two tone boots he wears as dress shoes for Eric’s birthday, but these specific shoes are kind of an anomaly, in that there’s no narrative reason for him to be dressed differently. There might be a production reason though. In the opening scene of this episode he is standing on a railing to spray paint a pot leaf on the water tower, so I suspect the costume dept. gave him these boots because their crepe rubber soles would offer more grip that the leather soles of his regular boots.

Another shirt that’s a total mystery to me

@fullretrovintagerebel solved one of the mysteries. The shirt Hyde briefly wears has the Lucky Strike logo on it. Now that I know this, I assume a producer made the actor keep his arms crossed so the show didn’t seem like it was promoting a cigarette company. 

On a related note, Hyde’s blue Budwieser shirt is often censored in reruns.

Hyde’s closet (and bedroom) before and after Jackie decorates it in 6x11

After a bad trip, Hyde quits the circle and begins looking more “cleaned up.” When he does this he wears the boots that Jackie bought for him in season 2 episode 21.

When Hyde goes straight and quits the circle in season 8, he takes up jogging and sports a black hoodie with matching sweatpants. He also wears his blue Adidas, which he wore while playing basketball in several season 1 episodes.

An off-white shirt with little geometric flowers and a tonal stripe. The snaps are kind of a rosy pink that almost match his glasses.

I don’t think the oversized yellow shirt actually suits Hyde very well, but I love this transition from season 8.
