UNDP 'WORLD WATERS' EMBASSY HQ

UNDP 'WORLD WATERS' EMBASSY HQ Namibia, Africa This embassy is a reaction to the environment surrounding it. The cooling / observation towers are inspired from local wildlife and serve a function as well. This local wildlife is very resilient with regards to the tough environment and so is this embassy. Here water is not on display for it is far too precious of a commodity to allow it to just evaporate for no good use. The embassy area above ground and below the cooling / observation towers is designed to capture any rainfall. The plaza area is covered with solar collecting fabric wired into the undergroud portion of the embassy to aid in powering the cooling system.

Client Description: Stove Works is to use Contemporary Art as a megaphone in order to foster an environment of exchange and reflection, to provide opportunities to learn from the experiences of others and to give voice. Stove Works seeks to bring outside elements into Chattanooga where creators, their work, and those that witness are engaged in a dynamic process: all three are impacted by the other in an evolving way, enriching outcomes for all. Stove Works aims to draw greater attention to the production of contemporary works in the Southeast, expand and educate an audience outside of traditional art goers, create an active base of arts advocates, and further establishes the Southeast’s (and Chattanooga’s) contribution to the national dialogue surrounding contemporary art.

Outdoor Center Chattanooga

Outdoor Chattanooga is a division of the City of Chattanooga Parks & Recreation Department, aimed at promoting outdoor recreation as a signature lifestyle for the city of Chattanooga. In order to facilitate the organization's growth, a site near the Tennessee River was selected for it's central location to many of the city's outdoor amenities.
