Now and then I poke around for new brushes, and I found several I liked and wanted to try out with a quicker piece. I apologize for the lack of polish, I probably missed several shadows and reflections in the process of things.

Overall I’m happy with what the new tools can do, and I’m looking forward into incorporating them into future work.

Commissions.

Hey friends, I need your help.

My foot got crushed by a dock plate at work, and it’s in pretty rough shape. For the duration, I can’t do much, but life continues and we have several major expenses coming up.

If you need or want any work done for an idea, project, because you like art or whatever reason, or know somebody else who might be after these things, my commissions are open for the foreseeable future.

You can see my artwork on this tumblr, but most of it is at steverenn.blogspot.com. My contact information is there as well, along with a pricing guide.

As for what I’m open to do, my only line in the sand is anything overly gratuitous or hideously violent but otherwise I’m down for whatever, and we can talk about it if you’re unsure. I’ve also included an example of my work below the break.

Portraits.

Hey guys, I have some time this weekend and I’m looking to do a couple portraits; bust style, line work and some light shading or color, your choice, for $15 USD.

OCs and any setting are welcome, even exotic things like dragons or sentient dish towels.

I don’t have a queue for this, but if I go past a couple, don’t worry. I will keep you updated on any waits or delays that emerge.

So I’ve been putting some serious thought into a “30 day drawing challenge” but with a Warcraft theme.

The rub is that I’m awful at 30 day anythings and I have really bad anxiety so putting that kind of deadline on something that’s supposed to be fun really has always killed my motivation for doing them. So in that theme I present the “30 idea World of Warcraft drawing challenge”!

I have 30 ideas for WoW themed drawings that I’ll do and maybe get a couple of like minded people to do some with me. There is no pressure to try to do one of these a day. Take your time with them, some of the ideas are a little off the wall so if you can’t come up with some thing you like don’t fret over it.

I’ll upload the full list in the next couple of days, no promises on making a fancy graphic for it since I am also pretty lazy about such things.

Anyways! Here is idea #1 “draw your current go-to character” The idea of a main is sooooo last expac. Draw the character that is your first impulse to hop on when you get some play time in.

Here is my current go to. Agamond my worgen Druid. Wielding the same staff he received from the night elven emissaries the day they helped him gain control over the curse.

The next idea? Draw you favorite, or at least most remembered, city or faction guard.

Summer Commissions.

Hey guys, hope you're all well. I'm open for commissions this summer. My goal is to cover two copies of Legion and a race change before August 30th. Largely, I keep this space open for my artwork/art related things. It’s had an awkward roommate with my writing ever since I started the page though.

Hey friends.

I see dozens of awesome pieces flying across my dashboard every day from great and amazing people. I want all of them to be able to work and create with the security and confidence their craft is due, from the largest collections to the smallest sketches.

It’s entirely necessary, if you plan on working as an artist, designer, musician and so on, to make it a point to understand the legalities surrounding your work, like rights, ownership and so on.

Even if your work isn’t necessarily artistic - if you create something, you have rights overall, and rights to that creation, within the constraints of copyright and intellectual property laws that all exist to define and guard what can often be a nebulous field.

It’s daunting to understand and secure the legal framework surrounding whatever it is you create. Laws can shift in prevalence and jurisdiction on local, state/provincial, national and international levels.

You have rights though, whether you’re a professional or not, to protect yourself, your work and your brand. Please familiarize yourselves with the laws that apply to you, between your given medium(s) and geography.
