One of the best-filmed live Shiny videos out there, enjoy guys. Thanks to ALTARTV for showing Shiny's some love.
DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SHINY TOY GUNS LEAD SATELLITE
Hey everyone,
Lauren here. It's been a while since I've submitted to this blog. In fact, last time I did I was just beginning my career as a Satellite, never did I imagine I'd end up working with the band on the level I do. But a lot has changed in 6 months and I couldn't be happier to be a Lead Satellite for the Guns.
If anyone has ever wondered what it's like - to go on tour and hang with your favorite band - maybe I can give you an idea. . .
First thing I see upon arrival, my favorite guys on stage commencing soundcheck.
And just so I know I'm in the right place ('cause seeing Jeremy, Chad, and Mikey wasn't enough) I turn around and am greeted by this familiar poster.
Check in time - my cue to let management know I'm here. Guest list status is always great. Note their TM has impeccable spelling.
My materials for the night: access badge and recruitment palmcards. The folks at Shiny HQ sure do take care of us; the badge is actually pretty close to the crew laminates. Can we say legit?
Few minutes after check in, Hollee (member of our physical team) arrives.
Btw guys this is me.
A good hour or so later everyone has settled down. Soundcheck is over but doors have yet to open. Tommy, Hollee, and I chill in the green room (and it's actually GREEN imagine that). Behind us you can see JT, stage tech for STG and Lindsey from Oh No Fiasco.
Annnnd for the main event. Sidestage view of the Guns. Technically Satellites get first pick of where they want to be during the show but I was content to literally watch from the sidelines.
After the show, this is where the "Satellite" part kicks in. Head over to the merch booth to hang with Leila and talk to STG fans about joining Satellites. These guys are some of the most enthusiastic and passionate fans ever; it's fun not to mention rewarding to get other fans involved - especially when we all want the same thing. Also, there is that *tiny* rockstar moment we get when fans realize we're "with" the band.
At the end of the concert when all the gear has been packed up, everyone from all four bands and crews make their rounds into the green room for drinks, conversation, and good fun. This is also the point when everyone hijacks my camera and I'm forced to pose like this.
And to bring this drawn-out entry to a close, this photo demonstrates one of the best parts of the night. Seeing my favorite band perform is great. Talking to fans who love my favorite band is also great. But then there's that moment where the line between fan and band member drops. It doesn't matter that they've been to places and done things you haven't, you're both people who love music at the end of the day. You go on tour with the Guns, you're treated like family. I actually forgot to get a photo with the band (I wish I were joking guys), but managed to get a modest shot of myself and Logan from Midi Matilda. There's always next time though. 'Cause you can bet this gal will be at every show possible.
Want to become more involved with Satellites? Message us at [email protected] to find out more. Hope to work with you guys.
Cheers for now!

Shiny Toy Guns, still looking classy.
50 Shades of Black.
Having attended a number of dates on this tour, this article certainly isn't being generous with the plentiful commentary on STG's live antics. It seems that once you see Shiny live, you have no choice from then on, you become a fan.
@tommyd4290 meeting all the coolest of Satellites at the #TLA in #philly
Satellites coming to shows! Here's a tip: hang by the merch booth and you might catch Tommy, Lauren or Chelsae. Carah and Jeremy will show too, just don't come too late. After their set is the best time.
See you all! Don't forget to send us your favorite lyrics from III (less than ten words).
Ever wanted to know Shiny's craziest fan? First album? Here's a video from FiveSevenMusic that tells all.
Satellites, you guys have done incredible work this year and it's not even halfway through. Thank you for working diligently to promote Shiny Toy Guns. You answered our Call, now it is time to become One.
