The Sticky Note Art Exercise

My attempt to make some art every day. Even if it's only 9 square inches.. It's usually bigger. And not every day.

One of the best gifts I ever got as a kid was a small transistor radio. It wasn't just music, it was autonomy. Time has moved on.. but I still have it.

I decided to add a little of the wallpaper to my Haunted Mansion corner.

Acrylic on.. plastic switch plate. 😂

I saw this old citrus crate label I loved and decided to paint it onto a switch plate the previous owner of my home left behind. She and I had vastly different taste. It's not a perfect match for my vampire kitchen, but I think it goes well enough!

There's 30 some odd years between these two paintings.. and years of my life I'd like to do over. It's hard not to wonder how much better I'd be if I had worked harder. How much better could I be now if I could just practice and stop worrying about making ends meet..

One day I'll have a proper workspace, rather than perching on the edge of a bed over a folding table. Today is not that day.

Early this year I was gifted two CDs that needed cover art..

With the first I tried to be faithful to the original cover. The second..? There was no way I'd be able to match the darkness of the photo when I'm so out of practice with watercolor. So it's just weird, and I don't care.. kinda suits the theme. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I can only work a couple hours in the mornings before the June gloom burns off, and it gets too hot. So I've only got one wing roughed in, and started on the feet today.

Finally got my outline up this week, and started on the last part of mural 2.
