i mentioned it yesterday but considering giving miss mother's day a devil fruit called the swap-swap fruit where she can basically swap two objects she's touching because i just have this mental image of her holding an apple and walking up to lanselot whose ass she just kicked for leaving her behind in the east blue and she reaches down and touches their abs only for him to start convulsing/choking up blood because she like. switched the apple with a vital organ
argentí, although they've finally gotten to a healthy weight (previously severely underweight) and built muscle over their time with the red hair pirates, still does not really look or act like a pirate; they serve as a sort of therapist/conflict mediator, not just for the main crew but also others who fly under the red hair pirates' banner.
being brave time 👉👈 argentí's my special little guy that i've built up off of concepts that i still will not reach for a while so. there is stuff subject to change as i learn but idk i'm throwing caution to the wind and i'm just going off vibes and things i've learned from the wiki for now
argentí ate the kiku kiku no mi / hear-hear fruit as a child
the hear-hear fruit has been sought out by the world government for a while; the previous user had been tracked down at some point, but chose to kill themself before they could be captured in order to return the fruit to the world to prevent it from immediately falling into the world government's possession
one world noble in particular, saint armonos, has been particularly adamant about finding the fruit, eventually getting his hands on it
armonos had a personal researcher under him by the name of morga d. odésia who was to research and extract the full nature of the hear-hear fruit
the hear-hear fruit's power ultimately serves as a true devil's bargain : by eating the hear-hear fruit, the user is capable of forcing others to obey their direct commands as stated; its powers are derived through vocal commands being heard, so it does not work through alternative forms of communication such as sign language or writing, or on those who cannot hear- it also cannot work underwater, where the sound would become too distorted to be conveyed clearly. however, this power also applies to the user as well- while unable to command themself, they are subject to direct orders given to them by others. people with incredibly strong willpower are able to fight off the compulsion to follow commands, both as someone who hears the user as well as the user themself. however, not willing to risk it, the previous user sacrificed their own hearing in order to avoid the dangers of having to follow orders
after the death of the previous user, the world government chose to cover up the true nature of the fruit, instead citing its powers as giving its user a form of super-advanced hearing that could pose a threat to the security of the world government and the marines
after learning of the true nature of the fruit, odésia stole the fruit and managed to flee from mary geoise, leading to armonos spearheading a personal manhunt for both her and the fruit, having done his best to keep it secret that he'd finally been in possession of the fruit in the first place, wishing to find use for it himself
while on the run, odésia met and had a relationship with a man in a village she hid in for a while, but after learning armonos wasn't far behind, she left the man, only to learn later that she was pregnant
finally, odésia settled on a small island within the grand line, giving birth to and raising her child- initially, she gave them the name morga d. argentí, before changing their name to silva de argentí (silva coming from the surname of their father), hoping to both hide their connection to her as well as the will she passed on to them
when argentí was around 5, odésia chose to feed the hear-hear fruit to him, giving him his first order of simply "be good". this innate sense of goodness would then stick with argentí as they grew older. because they were a child, and due to odésia's research, she knew that they could only obey orders given to them, unable to utilize the full extent of the fruit's powers- as a child, they would not have the willpower necessary yet to shake its commands (not that she sought to give them many, only ones to keep them safe); it was her hope that by having them eat the fruit, she could keep both the fruit (and argentí) safe from armonos through keeping a watchful eye on them
when argentí was 7, however, armonos managed to track down odésia to the island they'd been living on; after getting a tip from someone, armonos' retrieval team went to odésia's house to seek out the fruit; when odésia refused to reveal its whereabouts, armonos had her killed, only to discover that she had ordered argentí to hide nearby. realizing what she had done, armonos chose to get revenge against odésia by taking argentí in under his "care", making him forget his life with his mother prior, only letting them know she had "died". he then took argentí to mary geoise, where they were raised to serve as the "first priest" of armonos, meant to serve him as if he were truly a god- armonos effectively utilized the fruit's powers and argentí's inability to disobey or ignore orders, driving them to a point where they had simply accepted the terrible things done to them in mary geoise as 'normal' and 'part of being a priest' (the reality being argentí was cognizant of what they were going through, but lied to themself to keep themself sane)
it wasn't until a run-in with a certain pirate lead to them getting kidnapped from mary geoise that argentí was finally able to start mentally and emotionally breaking free from the torment he'd been through; this lead to argentí choosing to serve on the ship of the one who rescued him, thus joining the red hair pirates.
went down a rabbit hole on the wiki this morning. might finally get comfortable enough to share more about my stuff for argentí and their devil fruit after i do some more reading
