#every year he doesnt have an emmy is a sham
According to The Wrap, Perrineau gave a polygraph statement earlier this year in which she said that Miller raped her in 2012, when she was 17.
“During the windfall of deeply necessary accusations over the last few months in Hollywood, we have been thrilled to see so many women’s voices heard and dark experiences in this industry justified. It’s a hugely important time of change and, like every feminist in Hollywood and beyond, we celebrate. But during every time of change there are also incidences of the culture, in its enthusiasm and zeal, taking down the wrong targets. We believe, having worked closely with him for more than half a decade, that this is the case with Murray Miller. While our first instinct is to listen to every woman’s story, our insider knowledge of Murray’s situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3 percent of assault cases that are misreported every year. It is a true shame to add to that number, as outside of Hollywood women still struggle to be believed. We stand by Murray and this is all we’ll be saying about this issue.”
An abuser defending an abuser. Shocking. Love that she made sure to list her “feminist credentials,” before calling this woman a liar.
Can she just die
honestly.
or PEOPLE i actually give a shit about
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
I used to mock the fact that so many tv shows and movies use people who are like 29 to play highschool students but you know what if it keeps fewer kids on set where some grody ass fucking pedo director could put their hands on them I’m all for highschool specials with crows feet and five o'clock shadow because honestly like 3 people total in Hollywood can be trusted and they’re on thin fuckin ice
I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry. You’re not a bad person. You’re a very good person, who bad things have happened to. Besides, the world isn’t split into good people and Death Eaters. We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.
+ Bonus:
ok i need to talk about this in more than just tags. first of all this is beautiful. jake has such great character development. but we need to talk more about his relationship with amy and how he reacts to it. when amy says things, jake takes them to heart. she’s not doing it in a controlling way or “trying to change him” the way that trope is normally portrayed either. jake wants to grow up and be better. it’s not “ugh i have to drink 8 glasses of water a day now bc of my nagging girlfriend” or “i’m pretending to do this thing to get her off my back” he’s really trying. it’s an attitude of “my girlfriend is trying to take care of me and i want to grow and be better so i’m letting her”. and with the books, she doesn’t say “you’re an idiot you should read more” she makes a passing comment about it or mentions a book she loves and jake wants to love it too. they spend time together and feed off of each other in a natural way. (of course amy starts doing the cool cool cool cool thing… he says it a lot. it’s a contagious speech thing.) they really just know each other and it’s so wholesome and not the typical sitcom “ball and chain” type of thing.
sorry for the rant.
i love the concept of never taking jewelry off like wearing it even when you’re naked or showering or whatever

“Giggling should be made illegal.”
the scene were jacqueline took the weights was the most powerful, beautiful scene, it is so rare in media to see older women in positions of power who are multi dimensional and have depth, sympathy, pain, and hurting, yet are able to overcome it, it is so important to see a woman who struggled and went through hardship be able to succeed and grow, it is incredible that survivors, kids, teens, anyone can watch this storyline and feel empowered, they can learn and grow, they can learn that their experiences don’t define them, that they are stronger than anything they’ve ever gone through, and that it gets better, so, to the bold type, thank you for giving people a strong, hardworking, amazing character like jacqueline who they can learn from and be inspired by, thank you

“Harry Potter must not go back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year!”
My favorite thing about that episode was when Jane said “I know I can’t take the weights from you but maybe I can stand here with you for a bit.” Because it just struck me how incredibly true that is. No one can take the weight of trauma off you- people who have experienced something similar may help you bare it for awhile but no one can take it off you. The best anyone can do is be there- is show up. So you aren’t standing alone anymore.
What a good episode. What a good show.
Renew the bold type maybe?
