So it was like this, right? We were discussing baby girl names because at first we knew we were only going to have sons for a while, so we never really thought about girl names before. Some ideas flew around and then Scotty mentioned Roxy, and I liked that it sounded so unlike anything I expected, so I asked him why that. His eyes lit up when he mentioned it, so I already knew it had to have a reason.

He was reluctant at first but eventually gave in, told me the whole story and how he always felt like he let Roxy down, but how great she was. He then assumed I was possibly going to laugh at him, but really the whole time I was just listening and looking at him like

*Oh my god you are so precious*

And then I said alright! Let’s name our daughter Roxy, then we made it Roxanne so Roxy could ultimately be a nickname, which did very much stick.
