Work-From-Home Air Filter
In the cramped heat of the box, I feel sweat dripping down my back. My neck aches from the angle it is fixed at. Looking up over the cusp of his naked ass cheeks, I can see my new boss’ back and the hair on the back of his head. His cheeks are molded over my face and the stink is rotten. My face is sticky with his sweat, feeling like it is glued into his ass crack. My nose slides a little further into his sweaty ass hole which flexes against it every now and then. I can feel his ass sweat mix with my own and every breath is humid and it fucking reeks. I’ve been stuck here for hours. How much longer until my next break?
I thought being a “Private Assistant” would be easy: go to the employer’s house and help him do tedious admin jobs as he works from home for his independent business. Michael called me with some questions, liked my answers, and invited me over for an interview. He was an attractive man with a successful home business. His house was nice and somewhat secluded, but had an underlying musty odor. Every room had candles burning but under the sandalwood I could smell something like sulphur. There must be a pluming issue or something like that he was covering up, I thought.
After my interview with Michael, he said I was perfect. I thought he meant I was a good fit because of my admin experiences. But he had something else in mind. Something bizarre and disgusting. And the explanation for the smell.
He had some unspecified digestive problems. Apparently, his gas was so “toxic” that his house always reeked from it (the first time I came over, I did notice a musky odor). Trying to hold it all in would make him cramp. He said that all his work is manageable and doesn’t need extra help there, but he does need some kind of air filter.
The wicker chair also doubled as a box, with the seat as the lid. When he removed the cushion it showed that the seat had a large hole in the middle. My job would be to come over every day, squeeze into the box, and tilt my head up so my face would pop out of the hole. He would sit on my face as he did work and let out all his gas into my nose. That way, he could fart “as much as (he) wants” into the “air filter” and have stomach relief without making his house smell bad.
Of course I said no. I freaked out and told him to fuck off. He shrugged saying that the market is tough, so if I ever need a job I can always come over.
I was so angry that he wasted my time with this. At first, I thought it was a tasteless prank and I kept waiting for him to start laughing. But he wasn’t joking at all. His house did reek even with a dozen candles. I told myself I would never be desperate enough to say yes to that.
But that was almost six months ago. Hundreds of applications and planning for follow up emails and getting no phone calls, no offer for interviews, not even a phone screening. The only emails I got were either generic auto reply messages, or notices that the job position has been filled by someone else. I tried to be as frugal as I could but living in a cheap studio in the city was eating away at my savings.
I cried looking at Michael’s contact information, trying to think of options, anything else but him… businesses in my area were not hiring, restaurants and retail stores weren’t interested, I had no social media presence and had nothing to monetize. My body wouldn’t let me call him, but I had no other choice.
“Yes the position is still open!” He said over the phone, “To be honest I’m glad you changed your mind. No other applicant has the nose shape you do, and the air in here desperately needs a filter. Hours will be 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. I’ll probably need you for weekends but will let you know in advance. And I’ll try to make sure you don’t have to stay later than 6 but I cannot make promises.”
I just said yes to everything; the long hours, on demand weekends, meager pay, whatever he offered.
“Perfect. You’ll start tomorrow. Try to get here before 7:30 for a quick orientation.”
I agreed to see him tomorrow. I collapsed with dread, fearing it would be wore than it already sounded.
There is no such thing as a “good” fart, only gas that isn’t as bad as they usually are. But Michael’s farts were the worst I’d ever smelled in my life. They were thick with that rotten egg stench. The background sulphur funk of his house amplified by 100 since that stink was after the gas dispersed around the room. Here, inside his ass crack, the stench was thick and condensed. So thick, even having my nose plugged into the source wasn’t enough to fully suck in the stink. I had to take very deep sniffs over and over to try and make sure none of the gas escaped, drinking in the thick egg funk. I needed to keep sniffing because I couldn’t afford to be fired.
His “digestive problems” were constant. The very first fart on my first day was unforgettable: the disgusting feeling of his ass crack coating my face, his grimey asshole twitching on my nose, and feeling it vibrate as it shot the awful eggy vapor up my nose. I retched immediately, and he said “Friendly reminder, filter, you need to take in as much as possible. I know it isn’t perfect so some will leak out, but sniff as if you could vacuum them all. As long as my house smells better at the end of today, you’ll get to stay working with me.”
I tried to sniff even though the stink was assaulting my nose. Every natural reaction wanted to fight, pull away or force as much strength as possible to shove him off of me. Instead I clenched my fists and took deep sniffs. Just in time to feel his asshole push into my nose, another eggy blast that demanded a dozen very deep heavy sniffs. Besides, straps under the lid were securely wrapped behind my head to keep it at the best angle possible for my nose to wedge into his asshole. Trying to push the lid up would be impossible, and I fear trying it might end up breaking my neck.
(Later on, the devil on my shoulder told me that this could kill me and I would be free of this awful job and all of the life demands that forced me to take it. But he also delighted in giving me an alternate scenario; a timeline where I try to push him off, snap my neck, and become paralyzed from the neck down. I wouldn’t need the rest of my body for this job, so such a tragedy wouldn’t interrupt my workflow too much. These dark thoughts were a distraction from the asshole against my nose, as much as they could try to be.)
From then on, it seemed like he was farting every few minutes. In that first half hour I thought he was having a gas attack and it would stop soon, but after several waves of gas without any longer pauses between, dread pooled in my stomach at the thought that this could be his average amount of gas. There might even be days where his guts “acted up” more than they already did. I tried to push the thought away, tried to cling to the hope that this was an unusual gas attack and that this wouldn’t be every hour of every day. But by the time I had to suck in what felt like the hundredth fart of the morning, I realized this would be the norm. Each passing hour of that first day made it more and more clear; he really did need an air filter.
Every day I had to wake up early and sit through rush hour traffic to get to his house. Stressful traffic made worse from each minute bringing me closer to Michael’s ass. When I got to his house it would smell worse than the day before, definitely from not having an air filter at night. I technically wasn’t supposed to start until 8 but he’d strap me into the chair the moment I got there. What’s an extra 30 minutes compared to the next several hours of ass hell?
He would fart nonstop from 8am to 6pm (not counting the few breaks he allowed me, and not counting the nights he’d leave me in until 7pm, or extra Saturdays he often “needed”, or full weekends. At the end of my first month, he had me come in on Sunday, then after the full week he made me come in that weekend, and after the second full week he also needed me for a “half day” (really 8am-2pm) that Saturday. 14 consecutive days with only one day off before the Monday of another work week…
He would only let me out twice: twenty minutes for lunch, and one random block of ten minutes that was probably a legal minimum requirement. Too short to get lunch out, but that didn’t matter since the nausea took away my appetite. I spent my breaks on his back yard patio trying to get as much fresh air as I could before needing to get back in the box. My body was sore from the box; my back being curved, my ass numb from sitting on the floor for hours, my limbs weak from hugging my legs to my torso. I’d look at Michael through the window as he stared at his laptop with a grimace. I knew that even 10 minutes was long enough for his gas buildup to get uncomfortable. The first fart after I’d get in the box at the end of my breaks was always larger and longer than most, and Michael would let out a sigh of relief that he got his filter back.
I’d feel his asshole purse against my nose and no matter how hard I tried to brace for it, the slow rolling vibrations of his farts would shoot up my nose, flooding my sinuses with a burning stench. How can anyone be this gassy? It was unbelievable. Every hour of every day. Each fart was so long too; he never let out a little toot, it was always three whole seconds, sometimes more. He always laughed when he had a long one, like he was bragging to another dumb male friend. He told me his record was 12 seconds after holding it in during a dinner date.
He incorporated protein into his diet as much as he could, I noticed. His workout routine started after I’d leave for the night. I don’t know why he would do that, knowing how bad his gas can get. But I realized now that he has an “air filter”, he can eat whatever he wants.
So I sit in the cramped box underneath his disgusting ass, knowing the next fart was brewing and might explode any minute now. But I feel the humidity and realize it is going to be a silent one. Those were the worst. The slow silent fart seeps out of his asshole and pours into my nostrils. My tearing eyes roll back in my skull from the rancid stench. They are always so hot and thick. The silent fart keeps going, overflowing my nose.
I fight my natural reaction and vacuum suck in as much of his gas as I can. I didn’t want him to smell anything or I might lose this job.
Lightheaded from sucking in so deep, I tried to mutter “can I take a break?”
“Not right now,” He said flatly, “I’ll let you out when I’m done with these emails. Fifteen minutes.”
I wanted to cry. He said fifteen minutes earlier, maybe half an hour earlier. I prayed that he was close to finishing whatever to do list item he was on.
But a noise from his computer filled me with dread: it was shuffling cards and a little “congrats!” tune. He wasn’t even working. He was playing solitaire. He didn’t care that I’d been in this box for hours now and hadn’t had a break yet; he’ll let me out when he feels like it. I was still fighting back tears. If I demanded this break he would surely tell me my attitude is not a good fit with this role. If he wants to play games during work hours, he’s the boss so he can.
“Oh and I know this is a lot to ask,” he started to say, “but this Saturday I’m going out with a lady friend. So I’ll need you to stay over. I have other straps that can keep you secure while I sleep. And I know it’s not pleasant, but since you might fall asleep down back there, your nose won’t be enough to filter them unconsciously. I have a gag that can keep your mouth open even if you do pass out. Shouldn’t be too much to handle with your experience now. And I’ll pay you double.”
I was about to burst into tears. I could barely afford rent and other expenses already, so I really needed to say yes to any opportunity for money. Even if it meant a whole day of fart sniffing, then immediately after, a whole night of farting into my mouth.
“Also, I’ll need you right after our date. You know how backed up I get. Hah, I might even break my old record!”
Then his stomach gurgled above me and I winced feeling his asshole start to push against my nose again. I clenched my eyes shut and braced for impact, knowing it was going to be as rough as the others,
