the concept of historical lams just making out on their cot late at night so they’re completely alone but it doesn’t even lead to anything their just kissing to kiss and to communicate how much they missed the others intimate touch and to express their devotion to each other and they feel so completely comfortable around the other and after they tire out with that one lays onto the others chest, legs tangled together, and listens to their heartbeat while still mumbling conversations because they still want to talk because their literally best friend and the only person they can entirely trust with personal issues is the other but then sleep wins out obviously to john first and alex just keeps talking to himself until he realizes and just leans his head up a bit to plant a kiss onto johns chin and softly smiles tucking his face into johns neck knowing that his unlawfully wedded (but wedded enough for them) husband tried to stay up as long as he could just for him, and eventually he lulls himself to sleep while fidgeting with the ring on his finger wondering where they would spend their next anniversary. well, yes!
