She pressed into him and kissed him back insistently, holding him tight as if her very life depended on his nearness. She passed him a flame between their lips, blue and vibrant and searingly hot such that only a firebender could stand. She pulled back and panted softly, looking into his eyes and smiling softly, running her fingers over his cheeks. ”It’s less awkward than falling for a random peasant,” she pointed out, then laughed softly. ”That’s something I’d say, isn’t it? It’s something I think. But somewhere in these intervening years…it feels odd to say now.”
She nuzzled into his cheek, but pulled back further, trailing her hand down to his and lacing their fingers together, moving to pull him along. “Come to my bedroom, we can lay together and relax…”
Iroh followed Azula’s pull, leaning his head in to touch gentle, teasing kisses to her neck as they walked. As the shock of her confession subsided, the firebending male felt like a boy who had finallly gotten the gal he had his eye on for Spirits know how long. It was why Iroh was so accepting of her claim. He wanted, needed Tsangchen to be Azula. He couldn’t imagine giving his heart to anyone else.
The days slipped by and Tsangchen found it easy to relax in Iroh's presence. She opened up to him, telling him things about her life and about Zuko and her uncle Iroh. Eventually, letters came back from Zuko, his response to the letter she'd written him and a letter for Iroh as well. She'd put off opening hers until Iroh came over, and made a pot of tea for the two of them to share. Once she'd poured cups for each of them, she settled at the table and took a deep breath, finally breaking the seal and opening the letter to flick her eyes over it. This was going to be awkward, she was sure of it.
