My wife, our four children, and I are now displaced, moving from place to place trying to survive under extremely difficult conditions. My wife and daughter were seriously injured, and we urgently need medical care, food, and safe shelter. 💔😭

We are now living in a small tent, fearing the rain and the freezing cold. We don’t have enough food or money to provide for our basic needs. Before October 7th, I lived a humble life, dedicated to teaching and raising my children. But everything changed. Since that day, my family and I have been living in unimaginable conditions—without electricity, without clean water, without safety.

Our home was destroyed, and we now sleep in a torn tent, exposed to the freezing cold. My children cry from hunger and fear. The markets are empty or unaffordable. Bread is now a luxury—I knead pasta just to make something to fill their stomachs

i dont think KNow Your Meme gets enough credit for how seriously they archive information. i use them as a historical research source constantly. i personally have never found any false information on their site, im sure they make mistakes and i just havent personally seen any because i havent happened to be well-versed in the particular event where the error was made, but the format of their research is extremely citation-heavy. this has been especially true of how they link to tumblr posts that originated memes etc. no one else is keeping track of this information in this way

lord of the rings really was lightning in a bottle. it shouldn’t have worked but by god it did. peter jackson, who had no filmmaking education and was mostly known for making low budget splatter movies, had no business going out and changing the movie industry like that but he did. return of the king showed up at the oscars and became one of the most awarded movies of all time. to this day it holds the record for the highest clean sweep. hollywood will keep trying to recreate that magic with bigger budgets and high profile actors and they will keep failing. i look at the state of these blockbusters where everything is smoothed over by soulless cgi and actors are acting opposite tennis balls and they will never hold a candle to the pure heart and soul and craft of the lord of the rings. every single person involved in that project loved being part of it and it fucking shows. i’m so thankful the stars aligned the way they did for these movies to happen like that.
