““I’ve always loved the idea of not being what people expect me to be.” - Dita Von Teese”

It’s tempting to talk to everyone I cross paths with about my current endeavors, my goals and plans I’m working on.
I remember the times I did give into the temptation. Talking somebodies ears off about my hopes, dreams, and how I plan on achieving them. I was then followed with disappointment when I realized it didn’t work out how I said it would.
The less I talked to others about my plans, the more progress towards my hopes & dreams I would see. The more selective I got with who I’m going to rant or rave about the progress of my plans, the closer I got to what I’ve been working towards.
This reminded me that not everyone has good intentions towards you. This reminded me that people can be envious of what you’ve accomplished and what you’re working on. Envious of what you have. Not everyone is going to like you or wish you the best in achieving your goals and dreams in life. All of this is okay. It’ll never matter or affect you in any way unless you give it the power to do so.
Protecting my energy from those who try to leech off of it. From those who try to taint my positive energy and would have a field day if I were to fail and never try again.
Not giving a fuck about getting validation from others is so freeing & empowering. Going for what I truly love and what I’m living for without the societal pressures of working a 9-5 because making art for a living “isn’t possible”. Appreciating every win, big or small. Doing what I’ve set my mind to, actually seeing progress, and celebrating wins with the closest to me…
… that’s all that ever mattered!
I have a problem with staying consistent with my goals and how I plan on achieving them. It’s not easy admitting that to myself and it’s definitely not easy working on bettering myself in that aspect. I have to constantly find ways to remind myself to get shit done which is a bit annoying but once I get in the groove of things it’ll hopefully become muscle memory.
I’ve started writing my goals down for the year, upcoming month (February), and for the upcoming week. I’m going to take one day of the week to reflect on my yearly and monthly goals and come up with goals for the next week that’ll help me achieve my monthly goals and get me closer to my goals for the year.
I’m also going to take one hour every day to work on my weekly goals. Whether it’s making a doctors appointment, researching photo studios, or brainstorming an idea for my next photo project.
I don’t have to burn myself out in order to get to where I want to be but I do need to stay consistent. Just gotta do everything in my own pace because it’s a marathon, not a race. There’s no competition between me and somebody else.
It’s not going to be easy trying to achieve my goals this year but I know I can do it!

I’ve been staying on the low, keeping my head down, working on my goals & dreams.
I’m so close to where I want to be.
I just need to keep the pressure on & continue pushing.
It’s not easy but it’s worth every second of it.
Confidence is actually a life hack
todays the day I’ll be getting a promotion 🤞🏽💸
