#OYA Warrior and mysterious You rise majestically In the middle of the storm.
The place to improve the world is first in one's own heart and head and hands, and then work outward from there.

First we must care for ourselves, watering our own garden and trimming the weeds, before we can help others. Self-care is so extremely important that it’s almost lost its meaning from over use. We need a spiritual practice that nourishes us deeply so we can continue to feel its benefits echo through our whole being.
Sometimes I think they’re all missing the point. I feel isolated in yoga because my neighbour can’t detach from her cell phone. Why go to yoga if you aren’t trying to go within? This room can become a sacred space, if you just let it. They’re all missing the point of this practice and it’s peculiar to me. The intention should be to still the space around you and transport yourself to the astral plane of existence.Â
We are uncomfortable because everything in our life keeps changing -- our inner moods, our bodies, our work, the people we love, the world we live in. We can't hold on to anything -- a beautiful sunset, a sweet taste, an intimate moment with a lover, our very existence as the body/mind we call self -- because all things come and go. Lacking any permanent satisfaction, we continuously need another injection of fuel, stimulation, reassurance from loved ones, medicine, exercise, and meditation. We are continually driven to become something more, to experience something else.
Tara Brach, Radical Acceptance
We must learn to swim when it’s calm so we’re able to weather the storm.Â
Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.
