“What do you mean? I’d know if something was wrong. It’s summer, people are being lazy. Still early, people will come out later. Catch up? Well England foolishly left the EU recently. When were you last on Earth. A lot might of happened since then.”
“As I remember summer, people would work in the early morning and shelter from the heat in the afternoon.”
“What is this EU? The last I was here, it was the 16th century. Painters called to the Greek Pantheon, and we came to be their muses. However, the church of one god drove us away again.”
“Lose? Oooo, don’t use that word. We simply had higher priorities. Like quench our boredom. We both agreed it was getting a little repetitive. In a way Dad did us a favor.” He lifted his hand and spun, still smiling. “Look, whole new era to explore.” He kept his pace despite his sisters hastened steps. “Little bit later than that. 16th Century.” He laughed at her attempt to insult him. “Oh dear sister, you aren’t really suggesting that petting bunny rabbits, braiding hair and gossiping count as success with woman, are you?”
“For once I have to agree with your optimism. This is should be more interesting than Fathers games.” An issue with being the shorter twin was that Apollo could easily match her quick walk. “The twenty-first century, yes. How did humanity come to this?” she gestured to the cityscape, so different from the winding alleys and unexplored wilderness she remembered. “It’s so very...you, brother.” As she said that, she spotted the distinctive targets lined up in a row, arrows scattered on the ground from practice, to their left. Ah, her domain still existed in this world. “Slumber parties are further than you have gotten with many girls, but if you wish to argue with me over this, why don’t we settle it with archery?”

“Oh sweet, always fun meeting someone else like me.”
“I am sorry to disappoint you, but I am merely mortal at this moment. And a little confused about the current state of the world. Would you care to catch me up?”

“I think you missed,” she said to the people in the area, in particular, the individual with their arm still raised from the throw. “Maybe I should teach you how to aim properly.”
“Are you going to suggest we walk?” He interrupted. “Heh. Easy then. You go find daddy dearest, try and sweet talk him, and I’ll go explore. Let me know when he answers back.” Apollo cracked a laugh. ”HA! Honestly, I wouldn’t be worried. Zeus is just cranky, we didn’t take that arena match serious. He’ll get over it.” Apollo was truly not expressing any trace of worry. “ Until then, let’s go explore” He hopped on the wet grass, slide down the small slope and landed on the sidewalk below. “ We haven’t been down here in a while- Oh, no no, NO. My poetry is amazing, thank you very much. But the quality of your ‘talent’ is as good as your sex life. None existent.”
“We did lose by a few hundred points,” Artemis reminded him. But he did have a point. Zeus would eventually forgive them for losing the arena match no matter what they did in the mortal world. Unlike her twin, she gracefully stepped down the incline to the concrete path. “Was it the Roman era we were last here? I don’t quite remember.” A scoff and an eye roll answered his jab at her vow of chastity. She walked ahead without him. “And yet I have more success with women than you. Perhaps it’s your poetry that makes them reject you.”
