"Been a damn long while since I've seen an actual beach. Was one time back on Earth, but...y'know, tha's about it, now that I think about it. Never really made a lot'a trips to that sort'a thing. But--you ever been to an 'onest beach before, yourself?" Matchsticks was partially asking out of curiosity, but he was also more than a bit nervous about passing through security--a little small talk to pass the time and distract him was a good idea. It would make things a whole lot easier, that was for sure.

"Is Prospit usually all...perfect with things? I dunno.  Never really dealt with any'a them too much, and I think the ones 'ere ain't quite what I need to be expectin'. Probably a big difference there." Considering the current circumstances on Derse, he'd be more than surprised if the lighter carapaces were the same on their home planet as they were here. Then again, the war had affected both sides, needless to say, but he had no idea what the damage had been. Likely far less than what Derse suffered, to say the least.

When they actually made it to the transportalizer station, he couldn't help but hesitate at the door despite William's enthusiasm. It was almost like staring down a jail cell just for him in a way--if things didn't go well, that could very well be what he'd wind up doing during this semi-forced vacation instead of enjoying himself. It was only natural that he be nervous, but at the same time, he felt guilty about it.
