another thing about paleolithic first slayer is the idea of the slayer line predating written language, which I think augments the theme of defying prophecy that runs through the show, specifically how Buffy "flunked the written" by overturning everything that was known about the slayer line. the watchers being arbiters of knowledge and drawing their power from information, specifically written information, withholding that information from Buffy in s5 as their only means of controlling her etc could've been a really cool setup for the origins of the first slayer being truly unknown to them - but not to buffy, or to nikki wood, or to any of the other slayers who could connect to the collective unconscious they seem to share. there are things about the slayer line that the watchers cannot record and teach back to them etc. Then there's the fact that we know almost nothing about language from before a fairly early cutoff point which would make for a better explanation of why the first slayer doesn't speak for herself than her being a voiceless animalistic killer for unclear but blatantly racist reasons
