if we were children
the days might seem more hollow,
if we found ourselves
still sieving out our moods,
there is no honeymoon phase
no doubt nor worry or mask,
to be truly and only yourself
in the presence of love
is never ending,
a slender bend of nightfall
through the bifurcated bough,
sophic swallows lilting
with a transitory pause,
does the essence of the soul
speak to yearning,
one may overcome
the shrinking fabric of a flaw,
