I like how Caine's character also works so well as a toxic parent allegory

Someone who refuses to see that his children are suffering, refuses to accept that his methods of treating them aren't working, refuses to let anyone else help him deal with the situation because he's afraid of losing control, resorts to taking out his frustration on them because he knows they are powerless against him, and to top it all off, still sees himself as the bigger victm of the situation when things don't work out.

On top of being a lesson about the dangers of AI, he also works as a lesson about how some people just aren't made to be parents and shouldn't approach the idea of becoming one so casually.

I'm pretty sure there are people out there who know kids with parents like Caine or were kids with a parent like Caine.

He talks about how he wants to be loved and appreciated by them, but it feels more like he sees the humans as some sort of opponents he needs to defeat by winning them over with his sick games, and it makes me wonder how many parents out there also see their own children this way.
