Listen—and swoon—as Bridgerton’s Luke Thompson recites from the most important collection of love letters in the English language. Written by John Keats to his beloved Fanny Brawne, this group of eight letters will soon head to Sotheby's New York in Book Week.
Here, Thompson reads selections of the letters from the poet’s historic home in London. Keats published his first book at the age of 22, was engaged to Brawne at 23, and died when he was just 25. Keats wrote these letters between July 1819 and March 1820, during the final months of his life. They serve as a monument to a brief life lived with passion.
After 40 years being lost, this rare group has been recently recovered from the Hay-Whitney collection. It’ll come to auction for the first time in since 1885 on 25 June as part of Book Week, presented in partnership with Ritz-Carlton Reserve. via Sothebys
