Did any other medical students like completely underestimate how difficult med school would be?

Yes, I definitely did! The amount of work and revision I did dramatically increased each year. The blood sweat and tears I poured into my finals revision was like nothing I had ever done before. I think the hardest part was keeping my spirits up and finding the energy to keep going through all of the stuff that gets thrown at you in final year. What made it all bearable through those hard pre exam times were my friends who battled through with me and having time off from medicine so I didn’t completely go crazy!

It will be worth it though! You will get through it just like so many people did before you :)
