I know i comment on this every time i watch the episode but reid and morgan being scared they're gonna die in an elevator and reid whimpering "hotch!" when he doesn't even know if hotch can hear them makes me insane every time. He is always so certain hotch will come to save him

a day of hotch accidentally fixing reid's collar before he can catch himself. hotch picking out a piece of fluff from reid's hair while he was talking with jj or penelope who could see it. hotch holding onto the chair reid is standing over, fingers across the small of reid's back while the team pores over the latest geographical profile, and reid suddenly stutters while trying to estimate where the unsub could have gone. hotch unintentionally pairing himself and reid up to interview people of interest, and putting himself between reid and them when one gets hostile. hotch not removing his fingers when they meet reid's as he passed a clipboard. all culminating in a flushed spencer by the end of the day becoming the human equivalent of an error screen while hotch is still none the wiser

"But it makes me uncomfortable!" The world is an uncomfortable place and complete strangers are not required to fix that for you. Learning to endure harmless discomfort is a life skill for existing in public.
"But I don't like it!" There's plenty of things in the world and not all of them are fun or enjoyable or For You. This applies to everyone and we all have to deal with that in a mature fashion.

it DEEPLY irks me when people mischaracterize spencer reid. like no, he is not a 'dominant ladies man' he is canonically an outcast who doesnāt fit in and has issues in social situations. just because he 'glows up' doesnāt mean he no longer is who he was since the beginning. what happened was trauma and development that enabled him to mask better and to be perceived as a hardcore fbi agent when really heās still the same nerdy guy he always was.
(also a pet peeve of mine is when people who are not on the spectrum headcanon characters to be autistic. like hun thats not your area of expertise... but me on the otherhand?? any character i lay eyes on that shares a singular comminality to me: yup, autistic.)

I am also VERY IRKED when Reid is frequently (in my experience) characterized as a dominate 25 year old season 1-2 Reid, or shy, quiet submissive post-prison season 14 Reid. I mean, sure, you can argue that post-prison Reid could have some PTSD/other issues off screen that could make him more submissive in certain situations, but it's an extreme ICK to see him characterized as a whimpering child-like submissive that needs his hand held because someone shot a gun too close to him and he got scared (I mean, come on, the man shot a 100 during his weapons requalification)
Again, to reiterate my disclaimer: yes I understand fanfiction is meant to provide the opportunity to divulge from the canon personalities and behaviors, and freely express characters in your own was as freedom of artistic expression.
