She hadn’t meant to be watching the other, but in Arlen’s defense, the woman was making quite a scene. “Hey,” The brunette took a step closer, though tentatively: she didn’t want to be the next one kicked. “I hear if you give it a bit of a…tap on the left, near the top, it’ll give up the goods.” 

"The fuck?” Gabriela questioned with raised eyebrows. “So I’m not the only person the machine hates. Now I feel better.” Deciding to humour the other woman, not because she fully believed her words, she gave the vending machine a tap on the left side repeatedly, until she reached the top and then... oh. The damn bottle fell down. “I was this close to breaking the damn thing,” was all she said after she grabbed the Powerade bottle.

Luci couldn’t help but chuckle as she watched the woman attack the vending machine. “i’d be careful if I were you, those things are temperamental, the harder you kick it the tighter it holds on to what you want.” she said with a chuckle pulling a bill out of her wallet and putting it in the machine, pressing the button for where the other girls Gatorade was stuck. Watching as the one behind it pushed it out she grinned. “Ta da.” 

"This fucking thing should be scared of me,” Gabriela said in an annoyed tone. Yes, she even wanted machines to be scared at her, like they were living sentient beings. “Punching things usually works,” she said with a scoff, crossing her arms as she watched the other woman do her own thing. “Oh so it works for you, not me. Great. Fucking great.”  Hastily grabbing the Powerade, she took a few long sips of the beverage until it was almost half full.

Eloise’s eyebrows were now in a permanently raised position. There was still a distance in her posture but there was an openness developing deep within her bright eyes. Or at least, she wasn’t fighting so hard to not even look at the other for fear of being turned to stone or something. “Come on now, you’re not making an oath. Relax a little, it might suit you.” She smirked and took a long drink from her glass. Such a long drink that she drained the entire thing and set it down firmly on the bar in front of Gabriela. “Surprise me. And get me a drink too.”

“Babe, you did not just tell me to relax. I am the chillest of chill,” Gabriela said with an audible snort, because even she knew that was the furthest thing from the truth. The attempt to relax looked too... calculated. Her arm hanging loosely of the bar counter didn’t feel quite right. This woman, though, fuck. I’m so gay bounced around in her mind. Two birds, one stone. That was the plan. “Now, you say that, but the surprises that I have in mind would make even the devil blush,” she said with a mischievous spark in her eye. “Long Island Iced Tea, ‘cos you basic. But no, fo real, you’ll be gone before you even finish the second one.”

Reagan, minding her own, was alerted to the show when she heard the banging from her left. Turning her gaze away from her phone for a moment she saw another beating the mechanical devil as if it had wronged her in some way. From what she gathered, it refused to give her the beverage she had paid for. Reagan slipped her phone into her pocket as she neared the other cautiously, “I think you scared it.”

Gabriela leaned against the vending machine, wondering how much force it would take to break the glass. She was that desperate. “Good. It better be fucking scared of me. But it should also give me what I want.” Her eyes began roaming their surroundings in an attempt to discern what object was heavy enough to smash it.

it was hard to ignore the commotion echoing down the hall. the sound of metal against bone she had to surmise. she approached the brunette, looking at the source of her frustration. “ oh I can fix this . “ eden said digging a bobby pin out of her hair and a string from her purse. she’d gotten pretty skilled at nicking things out of vending machines because they were often the only source of food on a late night film set when you weren’t interested in gabbing with craft services. manoeuvring her device in she watched as the powerade was produced in the metallic slot. “ there you go, all fixed. “

Gabriela gave the other woman a quizzical look, pondering how the fuck a bobby pin was going to help with a vending machine. Arching an eyebrow in intrigue, though it was more what the fuck, she watched the Powerade fall down. “How about you tell the whole fucking world you’re a witch? There’s no way you just did that with just... that.”

“Vending machines are never the greatest to be honest, that thing has swallowed my money at least three times this week - do you need some money to try again?” Amelia knew it was frustrating when these things ate your money and give you nothing in return.

"Knowing our fucking luck, it’ll just swallow the money again,” Gabriela grumbled out, balling her hand into a fist to slam against the glass part of the machine. “Find me something heavy enough to break this.”

"You did not just--...” Gabriela paused, resting her fingers on her nose as she tried to take in what she just heard. “Duck and cover? Are you fucking shitting me? You got -- okay, no. This is being rectified immediately.”

Diego was wandering around as per usual. He always found himself in places where he probably shouldn’t have– mostly because he’d originally befriended a lot of employees. He immediately flinched as the woman kicked the machine. “It would uh… yeah, it would seem that way,” he murmured, scratching the back of his neck. “Maybe you should have something stronger…” 

"If you’re suggesting alcohol, then no,” Gabriela replied harshly, though her eyes were flickering up and down in interest. He hit all the benchmarks and God... she was in the mood to ruin him just for looking the way he did and existing. “Now, what I want is some damn Powerade. Make it happen before I kill this damn thing.”

"No fucking shit, Sherlock,” Gabriela grunted out, reaching out to grab the bill away from him without apology. “It’s not gonna work.” Humouring the situation, she inserted the dollar bill and pressed the Powerade button. A familiar clunk was heard. “Oh, yes... of fucking course it worked so now I’m just standing here like an idiot.”

"Unless it’s for a protein shake, I’m one hundred percent not interested,” Gabriela replied belatedly, giving the vending machine another hard knock. “What I want is a Powerade. And I don’t wait to wait, like, the fifteen minutes it’ll take them to find the damn thing.”

All Eloise wanted to do was drink in peace. She could blame her tiredness on the jet lag that had settled only momentarily in the wake of her trip back to the east coast of the united states but it was more than that. She would just happily be alone and lose herself in pretty cocktails. But apparently Gabriela had other plans and when her voice processed in Eloise’s ears, the woman let out an audible sigh. “Hello.” She answered almost abruptly, turning eyes glistening with alcohol to look at the other. “I always look good. I don’t need telling. But I suppose I’ve heard worse opening lines. I think your last attempt at an opening line was actually worse.”

“Yeah, man, you gotta chill the fuck out with how pretty you look. Give the poor plebians a chance,” Gabriela said while casually leaning against the bar counter, keeping it loose and relaxed. She could do that. Not be stiff and tense from anger all the damn time. “That wasn’t a pick-up line, though.” A pause. “Just the truth and nothing but the truth.” Pondering back on that night, she let out an audible snort. Truthfully, she wanted to forget. “I wasn’t hitting on you then. But I definitely am now. I want to make it up to you and buy you a drink or two.”

Because you can do all that and still won’t get your Powerade, but if you use this button here instead for, water or whatever,” he pushed the button. “And a fucking Powerade comes out! See that. The problem is you don’t know what you’re going to get until you get it! Could be water when you wanted Powerade. Or Powerade when you wanted water. It’s fucking all of us up I’m telling you.” 

“It’s a fucking machine,” Gabriela replied bemusedly with furrowed eyebrows, giving the machine another kick. It was a gentler one, but it still made a loud slam for a good portion of nearby guests to hear. “If I press Powerade, Powerade should come out. Not water. What the fuck?”

Gabriela slammed her hand on the vending machine in frustration. “Fucking piece of shit,” she muttered out angrily before kicking the bottom of it with her right foot, nearly oblivious to the fact there was a bystander nearby. “I just want a fucking Powerade. Is that so damn hard to ask for?”

It definitely wasn’t the three shots of tequila talking when Gabriela stumbled her way toward the bar counter, having spotted a familiar face with a drink in hand. The pool attendant who she had recently discovered was one of Kennedy’s roommates. “Heeeey there, babe,” Gabriela greeted excitedly, eyes practically glistening. She was pretending as if they were on good terms though their last interaction hadn’t exactly gone well. “Lookin’ good.”

The blonde was tired– just so emotionally drained. It was exhausting to pretend to be someone else. To Gabi she was one person, to someone that knew her better– Daisy, she was another. It was a constant game. And now, even as the other had made a confession as clear as day, she was now the one retracting it. It was like a game of fetch, only she was no goddamn dog. It was so easy to slip into diva mode. Someone taking something that she felt entitled to– it certainly stirred something in her. The fact that Gabriela tried to say she was neither special nor different was well within those peripherals. “Then why the hell are you here,” she petulantly scoffed, a lazy eye-roll not far behind. Kennedy nearly fought back. She wanted to, she deserved better than this. She wasn’t some wind-up doll for whenever the other girl got bored. And she most certainly wasn’t her punching bag. But she didn’t do anything, allowed her defenses to crumble for a moment. “Fuck you. Just fuck you…” Roughly she held onto the brunette’s hips. Her nails dug into them. She was sure she’d break the skin and hoped she did as she clung to her. Kennedy could practically taste the hate on her tongue as she dove in, deepening the kiss. The blonde’s teeth dug into her bottom lip, wishing she could taste the blood– just anything to let her know she’d hurt her. That mentality broke her away. “You want me tonight? You’re going to have to earn me…” she muttered, roughly pushing Gabriela’s head further south.

It bothered her how much her body desired to be touched. The jolts of desire that shot down to her core felt more amplified than usual. Gabriela hated not being in control, selfish in the way she allowed no one to go down there without her explicit permission. Kennedy had been the lone exception in Arcadia. She should have known then. Fuck. Truthfully, she wasn’t sure how to answer why the hell she was here, so she simply didn’t. It’s because you missed her, idiot. Hips instinctively rolled forward as she straddled Kennedy’s lap, both hands on her neck during the dizzying kiss. The taste of copper became evident inside her mouth, wiping the trickles of blood with the back of her hand once she pulled away. Her body involuntarily shivered from the pain, goosebumps appearing on her skin. “Weak,” Gabriela scoffed out in irritation, “so fucking weak.” Laughing through her nose, she slowly tilted her head and looked at the other woman as if to say bitch, really? Gently resting her knees on the floor, her fingers went toward the buttons of the blonde’s jeans. “I have to earn you? What kind of patriarchal bullshit is that?” She inquired bemusedly, unbuttoning the jeans and tugging back on it. Biting her lower lip in frustration, she took in a deep breath through her nose. “So does that mean I need to ask you for fucking permission to take off your damn clothes?”

I had to get away for a bit to recollect myself… see my family,” her smile faltered and in a rare moment, Evie’s tone became serious, “Especially with the killer still on the run.”

“Bitch, please,” Gabriela’s voice raised an octave at the challenge, knowing the other woman was most likely teasing but that didn’t stop her. “First of all, ew. Second of all, come on. Tell me you know some self defense, at least.”
