Going insane and collecting drawing advice from all the artists I can before I fall asleep. What is your favourite bit of art advice, and what is your easiest piece of drawing advice?

One of my favorite advices that I can think of: Everyone has their own journey, their own pace and their own goals, each one is different, what you might find easy, might be very difficult to someone else and vice-versa, so if you need to compare your art, do it with your past self, see your art progress and how much you've achieved (I do this whenever I feel like my art's not good enough and it usually makes me feel a lot better), and if you really want to compare yourself to other artists, do it just to study and learn, not to put yourself down.

As for the easiest, if possible, I personally always like to check the greyscale to see if the illustration is understandable and if the colors and the contrast are not conflicting

Also an extra advice: when searching for reference, be careful when doing it with social media, they can be pretty treacherous, one search for inspiration on Instagram or Pinterest can become an eternal doomscroll with your canvas or paper still empty. So always try to have a clear objective in mind whenever using them for that.

Hear me out, Dead Boy Detectives Magnus Archives AU with Crystal Palace as Jonathan Sims and Niko as Martin Blackwood.

I know that Edwin's personality is more similar to Jon's than Crystal's, but I think her powers involving eyes and seeing through others, her pursuit for knowledge and uncovering her past matches Jon more. I have no idea who Edwin would be. Maybe Gertrude so Crystal can go around following Edwin's research and footsteps? Or maybe Sasha so we can keep his friendship with Charles?

Also, I think Niko is more similar to Martin than Charles, who reminds more of Tim.
