Rewatching DBDA and I'm appreciating Catcrow for the first time. I never disliked it, but I also never felt the need to seek it out before. Now, though, I kinda want a few fic recs. Do you have any?

Shrödingers Crow by @anything-thats-rock-and-roll is literally canon to me. like thats the season two subplot. it’s real and what happened. the characterisation, the humor, the flirting, monty learning to be a human, i adore it. also, alot of these are gonna be by bird so thank you for being the ceo of catcrow fics 🙏💕

people think i’m pretty (i’ll sell my pride instead) (and the whole real love series) this is a modern au where thomas is a famous actor filming a movie in port townsend and flirts with bartender monty, they hookup and in the morning monty learns thomas thought he was a hooker. monty doesn’t correct him and the lie spirals. the whole series is genuinely so good of them navigating the lie, secret relationships, and then being public. highly highly recommend.

Phosphenes beautifully written, fantastic characterisation, and super fun world building. they’re all gods of their own worlds and lands with thomas and monty being gods of birds and cats respectively. flirting and hijinks and god arguments and rescue missions ensue. love love love this one.

In The Cards monty works as a scam fortune teller for his mother, after he saves a cat and meets a really weird vet, he learns that not all magic is a farce. sooo fun and whimsical, also features cameos from the dead boys and alive girls.

it’s a one way ticket to a madman’s station a new witch moves into esthers old house and monty asks the cat king for help. sandman crossover with the cat king being desires cringefail son. super cute and fun to read.

talks like a gentleman (like you imagined) and He said, "It feels good," I said, "I'll give it a try" are both just really good shameless smut

it’s not a one night stand if it turns into two a drunk shotgun wedding in vegas fic. this one will always have a special place in my heart because it was posted on my 21st birthday while i was actually in las vegas celebrating haha.

suffer these wicked outlaw ways (turn to those I pass upon my reckoning) and shout out to the girl (over there, in my chair) are both ficlet au misadventures and are super fun!

wishing wells and magic spells and everything between really cute not-date modern human au while monty is still trying to get over edwin. just fluffy and fun with a touch of angst.

Day 2: Witches/magic!

what if in the wake of Esther's death, the Cat King finds Monty and accidentally claims him.

he's a witch-less familiar, without a master he'll wither away and die, but the Cat King is magic. Not a witch ! but strong in magic

so when the Cat King picks up the dying little bird and brings him to his home, he accidentally binds them together, saving Montys life.

and so now he's stuck with a boy-crow-boy who can't leave/won't leave and since the Cat King is so nice (nicer than Esther) Monty keeps leaving shiny things in his chair/bed/hair/fur

they're not witch and familiar, as said, the Cat King is not a witch, but they're bound none the less
