iamhalsey: 3 years ago today I released BADLANDS! My debut album! A 16 track interactive concept record I was 19 years old when I penned and 20 years old when I released. In its first week it debuted at #2 on the billboard charts with 115,000 adjusted copies. With NO features (and no success at radio). Pitchfork gave it a whopping 4.9/10 (lol), the RIAA certified BADLANDS Platinum with 4 Gold singles and 4 Platinum singles, and it took me across the globe on my very first sold out tour that reached 5 continents. This is the moment my life would change forever and I would fall in love with storytelling unlike I had ever experienced before. And I fell in love with so many of you who left permanent fingerprints on the surface of my heart. If you visited BADLANDS, I say thank you. This was a moment in time that stood still unlike any other. I hope to continue world building and creating places where only you and I can go off and hide.
