With yet another development in this whole ai situation. I'm very disappointed in the fact that it's practically confirmed now that AI artists were worked with in one way or another. Whether it be actual AI being used or just working with people who do it independently. I think Joost has an unfortunate habit of not being consistent with his values for whatever reason that may be. I have very little interest in this whole thing even without the ai nonsense that's surrounding it and probably won't be posting anything about the actual project. Really hope a statement will be made but who knows.

I appreciate the message of unity that Joost spreads but I feel that at times he drops the ball. This is one of them. Working with people and concepts that he claims not to agree with isn't something that's new unfortunately. I hope that eventually he looks within and realizes that it does not come off well. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I hope this will be the end of it though and they don't continue to use it (or people that support it) in future projects. But who knows. If it does become a staple of future projects and gonna have to sadly bow out.

I don't wanna see people going out of their way to say it's not his fault or absolve blame. He's grown and has control over his faculties. It was a bad move to be involved with it. End of story.

I agree that Tommy’s age gap relationship is not great, but equating being attracted to an adult who is younger than you to CSA is incredibly insulting to actual survivors of CSA, not to mention misogynistic. you can absolutely find the gap disgusting (though you really shouldn’t bring up that pseudoscientific “brains don’t fully develop until [X] age”—it’s enough to say a 31yo has more life experience than a 20yo), but acting like a 20yo cannot consent at all is. ageist and misogynistic (because no one is saying the same of 20yo men, let’s be real rn)

What I was trying to point out is that there is a power imbalance between a 31 year old, who was touring the world and a 20 year old who was a barely a micro celebrity on TikTok. Yes they are consenting adults, and maybe their relationship really works for them. I still feel like it’s predatory. You don’t have to read my essay on why this is, but I would like to write one anyway.

Brains maturing at 25-26 is not pseudosciences. During the age of 10-28 your brain under goes a process called synaptic pruning and then myelination. This cuts down any unnecessary synapses you form as a baby, and insulates the ones you do use in a fatty substance called myelin. This helps neuron’s fire faster. This helps you think faster and clearer. It’s is also not pseudoscience that your frontal lobe is not fully developed until roughly 26 for women and 28 for men. (Yes, there is a scientific difference between the brains of men and woman. This is not medical sexism as men have been shown to have weaker parts of their time management and emotional regulation systems which are key parts of the frontal lobe.) I agree that there are some misleading aspects to this theory, mainly because maturity of the brain is flexible. One person could fully mature at 18, and the other could be fully mature at 32. But roughly 25-26 is a median, and just used as a base line.

Polina Gribanova, the girlfriend of Tommy Cash, was born in 2002. She started tik tok in 2020, but only started posting consistently in 2022. By this time Tommy Cash would have had two world tours under his belt. While being with him, she has joined a few modelling agency’s, but never anything more. I feel like there is also an imbalance in those power dynamics. Add on the 11 years of age difference and it feels predatory. I admit that pedophilloic wasn’t the right word, as they are both consenting adults. But it is predatory. As a survivor of CSA and grooming I feel like I have full right to look upon my experiences and make real world connections.

I also agree that no one talks about young men being groomed as mush as well should. As someone who experienced that exact thing, we need more awareness and acceptance on the topic. I would rather believe a lier then a predator. In all honesty, I don’t understand why misogyny was apart of your argument. I feel like it is far more misogynistic to brush evidence based allegations under the rug than it is to call a man out on strange behaviour.

I also understand the appeal of Tommy Cash, I heavily rooted for him during ESC last year, I thought he was Awsome. But as a survivor I can’t condone his behaviour. There isn’t anything illegal as far as I’m aware, but the power imbalance is too much for me to ignore. If you can ignore it, all power to you. And I am sorry that the post made you upset.

It was potent up at the front, but what I noticed was that it was a few male listeners that smelled the worse. Ik this is tumblr and there are like maybe 10 men left on this hell app, but please please please shower before you show up to concerts.

I made it to Joost DC

I was middle barricade and had to deal with a few crowd killers but everyone else that was moshing was sweet as hell!!!

BUT HE WAS RIGHT THERE WTF!!!! He was going though it, but still put on a hell of a show. plus I think I’m in the MV 😛😛😛
