âThis day brings me with unease.â
âI think today is the day I properly confront my sister and make up for lost time. Glances of pure hatred from me have to be so hard on her.â
Splendid, Fa Zheng! What a great step you are taking to reconcile with your sister. I will give you my strongest support towards this journey!
Come to think of it, Fa Zheng, I donât recall you ever mentioning you had a sibling.
[ it clicks. he realises what day it is. ]

âMy niece,â her fingers tightened around the string of the bow, weapon lowering in the slightest, though not letting down her guard lest he reach for his own weapons.Â
     âReturn her home.â
Liu Bei took a deep breath to remain calm. Was this really happening now? Just when he thought he could catch a break. Still, he remained composed and showed no hostility towards Xialiao. âYour niece...? Forgive me, Iâm afraid I donât understand.â
wuyinflower:
âIndeed,â mused as she kept her weapon raised; bow drawn as she stepped closer cautiously, âreturn her to meâto the kingdom in which she belongs.â
Taken back by surprise, Liu Beiâs eyes grew wide and he raised his hand up, indicating his apparent surrender. âWith all due respect-- what on Earth are you talking about?!â
âI... may have overexerted myself.âÂ

âOh.â
âLady Xu, Young Master Guan, I really donât want to hear Master Liu Beiâs mouth about the lack of one God of War at the-â
âWell then. That explains things. Come along, Young Master Guan, Lady Xu. Weâll postpone the war council.â
âThere you all are! I was wondering what was taking so l--â
âOh! Brother, Sister, please, forgive me-- Fa Zheng, we should... postpone the council meeting.âÂ
âI prefer hard boiled eggs. I like how convenient and portable they are during long travels.â
âOh good. Itâs quiet now.â
âDid something happen, Fa Zheng?â

While most of his words sound like unintelligible gibberish thanks to the splashing water, Yide does hear him mention the people loudly and clearly. Was that why he was here ? If he wasnât weaving footwear for the peasants, he was providing them with food. That didnât phase Yide in the slightest. â Oh, brother. â He let out an exasperated sigh, his hand reaching to pinch the bridge of his nose.
Just as he is about to make a comment, the frenzied animal decided to pull Xuande down into the water. Although later historians might find it funny that the King of Hanzhong died after a pitched fight with a fish, for the sake of the present Yide couldnât let that happen. He lets his feet enter the cold water, his eyes focused on the source of disturbance. Every now then and one of the two would surface only to be pulled back down by the other, he wasnât that concerned with the fish but ⊠what would Xuande say if they lost it? If only there was something that he could do to get them both out-
He feels something gently poke the side of his knee, his head jerks downards to notice the fishing pole Xuande had been using. He wondersâŠ. did the fish still have the hook in itâs mouth ?Â
Almost effortlessly, he pulls back the rod only to watch his brother and the creature that was giving so much trouble fly upwards and out of his view. Moments later, a loud thud and one âoofâ help to indicate where Xuande landed. At least he wasnât hurt⊠hopefully.
Yide returned to the land, only to find his brother leaning against a tree and their prize still wriggling on the ground. That was one tough fish.
â Sheesh, I think I reeled that one in a bit too hard. You okay there ? â
Thanks to Zhang Fei's help, the mighty fish was successfully caught. Liu Bei was soaked, and the weight of the water that was absorbed into his clothes kept him from getting back up, so he remained seated on the ground, leaning his back against the tree. He couldn't help but stare, wide-eyed in awe of the fish wriggling for its life in front of him. If Liu Bei had to estimate, it was probably 270 centimeters and maybe between 180 to 270 kilograms. He smiled proudly, and was excited to get the fish back to the castle to cook and feed his army.
"Yes, I'm fine, Yide. Thank you for your help." Liu Bei commended his sworn brother as he managed to get back on his feet after a few minutes of sitting and wrung excess water out of his clothes. "That was... an adventure!"
Liu Bei was still feeling the adrenaline rush, unable to contain his joy. "Why, we should come out to fish more often, while the weather is still warm! I think it would be beneficial, not just for gathering food, but to raise positive morale--"
He paused, feeling a sudden unease.
âAchoo!â
That didnât sound good. Liu Bei decided his fishing adventure was done for the day. Now, it was time to deliver the fish back home.Â
âForgive me, Yide, I will need your assistance once more.âÂ
I just wanted to make a note-- I have DW9, but sadly havenât had much time to invest in it because Iâm a full-time student (and I also work part-time) and so, real life trumps fun life, so if your character is from DW9, my response will be slow (as if I wasnât already a slow responder) because I want to respond accordingly to your character, should there be any possible significance (relationship) to Liu Bei via linkage to his acquaintances or enemies. I promise Iâm not purposely ignoring anyone, I just want to get responses as accurately down as I can!Â
chouhi:
A couple of harried-looking maids instructed him to follow the path that would eventually lead him to the lake. Figures that he would try out something else with his work station being barred shut. Still, fishing ? He canât recall his brother ever bringing up the activity in a fond matter. Perhaps Yide didnât know Xuande as much as he thought he did.Â
Yet it isnât too out of the question, someone of Xuandeâs easy going nature could get behind the concept of relaxing the whole day, waiting for something to bite. Unfortunately, he himself didnât possess that kind of patience. But he was willing to give it a try, if only for Xuandeâs sake.
The recent events such as Yunchangâs departure to Fan castle, and their successful attempt at kicking Cao Cao out of Hanzhong must have taken a toll on his mental state. It was nice to see Xuande be less⊠selfless than he usually is. Let Zhuge Liang take care of internal and domestic affairs for a day, what could go wrong ?
He doesnât have to wait long to get his answer. Just a few feet ahead of him, Yide gets to observe the most embarrassing - yet also hilarious - fate befall a ruler; wrestling for dominance with a fish in ice cold water. His brother was lucky that he was the only one there to witness it. If the commoners saw him in this situation, he would lose support fast.
â Xuande, what the hell are you doing ? â
Liu Bei did not mind the cold water in the slightest (in fact, his adrenaline rush from somewhat successfully catching his fish prevented him from actually feeling anything); as long as he was able to bring back a good meal to the army, he was content; he would do it all over again for his people.
He rose up from the water, holding down his catch of the day with his arms around it; his catch was most definitely a fish - a massive fish. It was wriggling, trying to escape from Liu Beiâs grasp. While trying to keep the massive fish from getting away, Liu Bei heard a loud (and familiar) voice; he turned his focus away from the fish (while maintaining his grip) and saw that Zhang Fei was close by.
âYide! Thank goodness, you are here! I need your help!â Zhang Fei was the perfect man for the job. With his mighty strength, Liu Bei knew Zhang Fei could assist him in getting the fish onto land. âLook, Yide, think of how many people we can feedâ gah!âÂ
Another splash.
The fish (with a mind of its own) decided to submerge itself into the water, dragging Liu Bei down with it once more; and so, the wrestling match between man and fish continued... who would be the victor this time around?Â
Feeling restless, Liu Bei decided fishing would calm him down. Being the leader of Shu was not all fun and games; Liu Bei acknowledged this, but he could no longer do nothing while the chaos spread. His love and compassion for the people and the land greatly trumped over any stress and anxiety he felt with the title of ruler. Still, he needed to take care of himself.
At first, he headed towards his special work station, where all the straw was collected, but the handmaidens (and even the soldiers) barricaded the entrance, and insisted their lord try something else because they knew he would spend hours weaving and they were running out of space to store sandals. His subordinates were well-intended, and Liu Bei understood they only wanted what was best for him (and their sanity).
So there he was, under the sun, sitting by the water with his fishing rod in his hands, waiting for fish to bite while taking in the serene scenery: very green trees, water clear as day and the sounds of happy singing birds. He inhaled the fresh air, and exhaled every ounce of restlessness felt in his bones. Liu Bei was content in his quiet, happy space.
The calm was interrupted when the fishing line made movements, and he realised fish bit onto his bait. Quickly (and excitedly), Liu Bei used his strength to pull the fish in, but it was strong-- unusually strong. Liu Bei figured it must be a big fish-- which meant he could feed servings to the army. Realising this, Liu Bei's determination grew; he was going to bring that fish in.
"Oh--!"
Splash!
Whatever monster caught onto the bait proved to be superior in strength compared to Liu Bei, because it managed to pull him from land and into the water. Fish: one, Liu Bei: zero.Â

OK seriously though before we start, I just gotta say. STRAW JORDANS? That automatically wins best blog name. I donât make the rules, I just preach them XD
His father was a talented man. He was a passionate, strong willed man, capable of winning over hearts. His best skill by far however was his ability to weave. His fingers were dexterous, working into a natural, quick rhythm as he took up straw after straw. It was mesmerising to watch. But watch, so far, was all that Liu Shan could do for his attempts to replicate his fatherâs straw weaving was abysmal.
âOh Iâll never get this right. How are you able to do this so easily, father?â
âIt just takes practice, and a lot of patience, my son.â Liu Bei placed a comforting hand over the young manâs shoulder. âWhen I was a young boy, I broke many straws practicing this art; that was because I was too eager to perfect this skill.â Liu Bei could recall his days actually crying from frustration when he was not able to weave like his father and grandfather; they would laugh at the young Liu Bei, not to mock him, but because his efforts were strong and his cheeks would turn beet red; they found it cute. That was a story to be told another time. âI understand that patience is a lot to ask for, however.â Liu Bei admitted. One of his brothers was Zhang Fei, after all. âHere, would you like me to show you again?â
