See, I do have a theory about the forbidden magic he uses being something that drains life force or energy.
It's implied Leander, being a mage, seeks power. He just doesn't go through the Senobium to get it.
What if his forbidden magic is stealing the magical essence of others who have it? We've already had it confirmed that anyone can learn magic.
Leander must have a strong lust for power and with the recent Kickstarter update, there was a rather ominous message someone placed within the reblog of the post as a screenshot from the update.
This means he's definitely doing SOMETHING bad to others. While my wife tells me he seems the type to do it for a good cause, I think he has more... Selfish intentions at heart. And those intentions likely involve the power of others. We can come to this theory and back it up with how he refers to the MC's curse as their "power" as we all have noticed.
Perhaps his breaking the MC's curse involves him draining the magical essence of it to take for himself?
He must be especially eager to have the MC with the way he leaves them with ominous warnings about other characters or says they wouldn't want or need to be bothered by the MC's problem or presence when the MC expresses that they are curious or do not think ill of the other LI's.
He's a curious man indeed.
