Probably should put this here, but sorry being really inactive as of lot. Not to get into to much. But my family has been dealing with a lot of health stuff for over a year now. And this past week it's gotten really bad again. So if I disappear it's bc of all that.

fun tips if you are autistic/have pica/a little goblin or seek specific textures in your food like I do for whatever reason and don't know where to get started.
if you microwave pasta for long enough then it becomes so crunchy that you can feel like you're eating rocks or the bones of a small animal
microwave some cut and precooked hotdogs well after they've burst so that they become crunchy and you can imagine you're eating limestone because you can use your teeth to turn it into sausage dust, also great for blending to make safe-to-consume sawdust
want to eat glass? might I suggest baking clear hard candy, it's got to be the kind that is at least translucent
want to chew on a tree branch? get some sugar cane. it's sugary and you'll actually get the chew and resistance of the fibers
you can freeze carrots, great gradient of hard crystals to soft carrot as it warms up in your goblin mouth and you can keep refreezing them if u don't want the mushy bit
want to drink mud? take some chocolate milk drink powder and mix it with VERY LITTLE water. I mean start with one drop and keep mixing till it's the consistency you want. the crystals will only partially dissolve so you really get the gritty feeling
sand? really fine breadcrumbs, or just make some toast and rub two slices together and they'll make crumbs, mix with a very small amount sugar crystals for that crunch
don't know how to fit this in here but you can overheat pita or a tortilla on the stove in a dry pan till it's crisp enough to stand unsupported and it shatters really nicely
another nice rock alternative is called jaggery or gurrh (depending on where you're from) and it's a rock of brown sugar. you can buy it in cone shapes but also just as chunks on rock from indian markets
another good Indian food is soan papdi (approximately pronounced so-AH-n PAH-p-dee), if you get the right kind it's like eating those fiber glass insulation wall things

still an extremely rare occurence as there are only 20 cases reported for AMAB people (all cis men from what I read) so far, against around 180 million AFAB people, but I'm assuming that with transfem and transwomen now having access to proper hormonal treatment in way more places in the world than ever before in history the probability of this issue occuring will increase. it'll probably remain extremely rare though but damn... you do learn things every day in this world

Even though no one is talking about it, disabled people will be the group that sufferers tremendously (if not the most) compared to other marginalized groups due to this US election outcome.
If Trump repeals the ACA, insurance won’t cover our medical treatments, aids, or procedures. It’s likely that SSDI (many people’s only source of income) will be taken away, other benefits will have a work requirement that is impossible for most disabled people to meet, educational protections will be removed for disabled students, prices of medication (that we need to live) will go up, the list goes on.
Many of us will die, become extremely ill, and/or become homeless due to even just the repeal of the ACA and removal of some SS/SSDI (many people’s only form of income). It’s uncertain what exactly is going to happen and when, but disabled Americans are going to suffer. Please be aware of what’s happening to us these next 4 years, try to advocate as much as you can, and support your disabled and chronically ill community members (since the federal government obviously will not).
big shoutout to disabled people who smell bad. disabled people who cannot shower regularly. disabled people who sweat a lot and it causes them to smell bad. disabled people who cannot apply deodorant due to mobility restrictions. disabled people who cannot do laundry regularly or at all, and end up wearing dirty clothes for a long time. disabled people who cannot clean their living space, and thus end up smelling bad themselves. disabled people who have any condition or disability that causes body odor. and any other disabled people who smell bad for reasons i didn't mention. i see you and i love you.

being chronically ill with fluctuating symptoms is so annoying because when it's at it's worst im like "okay i desperately need some type of mobility aid right now, i haven't been able to leave my house in days" but then i'm able to go for a walk one day and suddenly i feel like im exaggerating my symptoms and that i actually can walk fine and it would just be embarrassing and pointless to ask for a mobility aid assessment
but like ... not struggling as much one day doesn't take away from the days that i struggle the most
our pain is valid even when it's not at it's worst and we deserve the accommodations we need even if we don't always need them at all times
Shoutout to disabled people that constantly get new symptoms. Shoutout to disabled people who don't know a lot about their disability. Shoutout to disabled people with confusing medical conditions. Shoutout to disabled people who have blurred boundaries and often can't tell what they can and can't do. Shoutout to disabled people without a clear diagnosis.
