The inaugural medalists in Olympic women’s street skateboarding.

Pamela Rosa, Letícia Bufoni and Rayssa Leal are the three names of the feminine skateboard Brazilian team. Rayssa, with only 13 years old, is the youngest Brazilian athlete ever, has won the SLS at the age of 11 and has big chances of winning gold!

I’m 22 and damn near crying watching these girls win metals for skateboarding, and I haven’t even skated for years, but damn just thinking about how much impact this kind of representation will have for girl skaters and how encouraging this would have been for young me to see is hitting really hard

Beautifully put. This is a big reason why I argued in favor of skateboarding becoming an Olympic sport years ago when it was just a conversation people had. The announcers credited Street League for coming up with a format that allowed the sport to be elevated to the Olympic level and I would like to thank Street League as well
