What do I want?
I have really been struggling to maintain regular strength workouts lately. And I think it's because I don't really know what I want anymore (plus a whole tonne of obstacles). When I first started working out I wanted to be thinner. I had something tangible to crave for, fuelling my workouts. Last semester I wanted to be fit enough to climb hills. I maintained my strength workouts, added extra cardio, and climbed those hills like a boss. But now, now I don't know what to do. I've been banished from the hills due to fear of snake bite and a sore knee. I need a new thing. A new thing to crave and become mildly obsessed with.
Whatever shall I do.
Roads go ever ever on,
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea;
Over snow by winter sown,
And through the merry flowers of June,
Over grass and over stone,
And under mountains in the moon.
Roads go ever ever on
Under cloud and under star,
Yet feet that wandering have gone
Turn at last to home afar.
Eyes that fire and sword have seen
And horror in the halls of stone
Look at last on meadows green
And trees and hills they long have known.
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.
My Quest
I've taken twelve months off from studying. I'm going to use this year to focus on The Quest. The quest to become strong, balanced, and flexible in my mind and my body. I will use this blog to record my adventures and my musings.
May the journey never end.
