Surprise...? || Touya & Cheren
He snerks at the way Cheren behaves about it. Touya is completely nonchalant about the topic of sex, but now wasnāt the time to tease Cheren in his uniquely deadpan way as he always done. Seeing as how Cheren wasnāt going to chastise him, he begins to loosen up around him.Ā
"I donāt blame you, Cheren." Hearing him issue an apology was both strange and surprising to him. Ā "We all had a lot going on, and we were all going about them badlyā¦but we all got through it and grew up. No needā¦to be sorry, butā¦ I feel a little easier now," he bashfully admits to him. He wishes he had his hat on to hide under it, but he couldnāt. The feeling increased when he was asked about the mother of his child.Ā
"She died in Kalos. They had their own band of goofs; Team Flare. Itās almost been two years." He then gently scratches his head. "Funny you mention about travelling out. Starting this year, he and I have been to quite a few places. " Not looking for someone, only sight seeingā¦Ā
"Yes...I suppose you could say we all found our way in the end," he replied rather sheepishly, mainly because he hadn't been expecting them to come to the same terms rather quickly. Though Cheren's meekness didn't last rather long as the comment of Touya feeling easier struck a small never causing him to sigh. "Of course you do because you automatically saw that I was going to be the bad guy in this ordeal and give you a lecture like I always do." Really, was he that easy to read?
"But this time....I won't. At least not for now." It was probably best to keep it subtle for now until they had more times on their hands and Katsuro to not be around, but who knew when that would ever happen. So when he heard about the death of the mysterious woman he had never even heard of until now, Cheren felt rather baffled and even a bit guilty for even assuming things so quickly.
A brief moment of silence stretched between them as he tried to gather the best way of tackling the situation. "I'm sorry about that," He responded at last. "And I have heard a bit about Team Flare hear....but it's ashamed her life was lost in order to help the greater good." It might be best if they didn't go too far on the subject. "Traveling? Don't you think he's rather young to be traveling? I mean, sure most of the danger might be gone for now, but..." He was sure Touya could fill in the gap on his own.
Drake nodded with pure happiness. "Thank you, mister Cheren! I really am happy to learn. I could need it in case something like this ever happens again ."
He followed behind Cheren, heading to such route to find his Gallade. Drake watched the trees around him that rustled.
"So, what makes you so interested in Normal types?"
"Well I don't want to make empty promises, but I can't say the school might fully prepare you for these types of situations..." He let out a small chuckle of embarrassment. "But I assure you, it will help prepare you for a lot of other things."
Cheren was actually rather used to this question and couldn't help but offer a small smile towards Drake. "To me, normal types are different compared to other Pokemon. They have one main weakness, but they have a great ability to adapt which allows them to learn how to counter almost every known Pokemon type, allowing to be great defensively. Even some like the Lillipup line are capable of having the Scrappy ability that lets them hit Ghost types with their Normal type moves."
"It's just really a toss up whenever you come across a Normal type because you never know what you're up against."
"Heh, hehā¦" Itās true. That mischievous streak never left him because it was a natural fore to his nature.Ā
"Sounds like something Alder would do. He got me a Larvesta and moved me next door to him a couple years ago." Now imagine Cheren. Alder knew all along where the mysterious Touya was. Alder would also probably say something along the lines of, āhey you never askedā. In fact, Touya and Alder wereā¦ a tad similar in humor and behavior. " āNothingā is a surprising word from youā¦ Hah. Work is very preoccupying, you know. Itās the foundation of building yourself! Like the first 40 odd months of a child." Ā There was the hint of Katsuroās age. Not exact, but very close. His child will be four coming this march.Ā
"....Next door?" He echoed with disbelief. Had his old mentor really been hiding this from him after all these years? Had Touya really just been just in the next town over. A part of him felt annoyed, but then again he had remember he was dealing with Alder...and Touya. Those two weren't exactly the easiest to deal with and probably decided together that they'd keep it a secret from him. He'd have to deal with that later.
"Why is 'nothing' so surprising? You act as if I used to fawn over people or bond with them so easily, which has never been the case." Cheren shrugged at the comment. "40 odd months...that's almost a definite number to pick."

Mun is home from work. Iām going to do a bit of studying for my upcoming test this week, and then Iāll be on. My main focus tonight is probably going to be editing my Pokemon page again, because I had ideas again. (I promise I will have a final version that standsā¦FOR REALS) Ā and after that Iāll get to my replies :3
EDIT: I probably need to add that I will participate in battles via pokemonshowdown on here too...and the account name I use for Cheren. Only thing is, that yeah server issues on campus so I'll have to state all of that in my rules page...guess that'll get updated tonight as well. I'll let everyone know when it's all fixed \o\
"Hmmā¦ but by then youāre attached to the person? I mean a first glance sorta thing, not captivateā¦ " But then Cheren speaking over his thoughtful mutters made him laugh out loud.
"Cheren! Thatās grade school!Ā And Iām just curious! I wasnāt even thinking of Valentinesā¦ I was just filling in the gaps weāve spent apartā¦ ā It was truthful. As mischivous Touya could be, he never really lied. At worst he was discreetĀ but never outright lied to anyone.Ā
"Well when dealing with you, a person can never be too careful." Cheren said with a slight huff of annoyance. He had dealt with Touya trying to pair him off too many times growing up, and he wasn't going to deal with now that the man had returned back into his life.
".....there's nothing to be filled in on." He added blunty, even though he was leaving out the bit of memory loss information. "Alder helped me get this teaching job. Brycen helped me become apprentice to Lenora. It's been nothing but work and teaching with a few catching up moments with Bianca. I guess you could say I don't really have much of an interest life." He gave a small shrug as if it wasn't nothing serious.
"Thatās cold." She responded, getting ready to throw another snowball at him. Her pitch, however, was interrupted when his own snowball hit her face much harder than she had anticipated. He was not playing around about his strength.
However, he could have been more gentle on his throw, as she suddenly found that her eyesight was blurry.
"Uh-oh!"
Perhaps his throws were a bit stronger than he expected as he ended up sending the girl tumbling to the ground. That hadn't exactly been planned at all. "Bianca! Are you alright?" he questioned as he crossed over to where she laid in the show, kneeling down to help her up when he realized her glasses were missing.
"Well...this is truly a bother...isn't it?" He let out a sigh. How were they going to locate the spectacles in this slush?

At the question, Cheren stared at the boy suspiciously. Why was all of this coming up out of nowhere? "Are you trying to set me up for a Valentine's Day date, because if so, the answer is no. I had enough of your matchmaking skills in grade school."
