A PSA to the Shy Sunflowers,

From personal experience, I know and completely understand how hard it is to reach out to someone. I know I’m guilty of this as well. We’ll like people’s posts, silently stalk their blogs, maybe comment or say smol things in answer to their general, random ooc posts. We hope they’ll notice or maybe just admire them from afar, always convincing ourselves that sending a message (especially if we’ve sent one before) will ultimately annoy or bother them. Or maybe we convince ourselves that said person is too awesome for us, that they’ll think sending a message is too weird or clingy.

Or sometimes, in our socially anxious and conflicted minds, we just don’t even know where to start. A simple hello seems too forward, so going to them for anything else is out of the question. I can’t speak for everyone, nor could I ever attempt to, but I’m here to tell you that for almost everyone here and especially where I am concerned, I truly mean, with all my heart (for whatever it’’s worth), that you can come to me for absolutely anything.

You want to say hi? Please do so, it will make my day! You want to vent or talk about your day or yell about fandoms? Please do so, it will make my day! Want to plot things with me or tell me about your writing, ideas, characters, headcanons, or simply send me links to things that make you smile? Please do so, it will make my day! I love people, I love making friends, I love you. Even if I’m not the best at responding sometimes, even if I go away for a bit, I promise you that you are important and you are never, ever a bother to me.

So whether you are a mutual or not, whether we know each other or not, my IM, Discord, and whatever other platform you may use is ALWAYS open to you. You are permanently invited to invade my inbox.

“Paying it forward” is about to become VERY important for the RPC to survive.

Now more than ever, (or at least until things change YET again) whether someone is NSFW or Un-flagged, it would be SO HELPFUL to your neighbors that:

When they post their BLOG PROMOS…to actually reblog them.

Tumblr’s new “flagging” system deems that anyone who is marked as “NSFW,” even if they aren’t posting porn after the 17th, will become invisible to the search engines on here. SO. That means we have to spread the word when our fellow rp’ers are looking for new players. I know some of us don’t want to clutter our blogs, but this is one simple way of averting total isolation. And I understand, that not everyone’s rp blog is appropriate or applicable to our followers, and this is a big stretch to assume people will do this. I’m not proposing you reblog ALL promos, just do what you can!!!

Why is this important?

Only UN-flagged blogs and their posts can be found everywhere on tumblr after December 17, and un-flagged blogs will remain seen 100% on both mobile and web, with all previous rights in place.

So until [ you ] appeal [ your ]“NSFW” status, and get marked as un-flagged, the RPC is going to suffer a huge blow. People are already exiting this site, so for the survivors? Let’s take this opportunity to start anew, and get novice writers a chance to be seen, and to those of us seasoned writers that still remain, we need to be a good example. Because let’s face it, even before the ban, the RPC was going to HELL.

Sports teams call this sort of thing “a rebuilding year” and that’s what we gotta do as a community. Work together, and stop being so damn selfish, or NO ONE is going to be left.
