To fast is to say ‘Dear God, I love food. I love drink. I love to fulfill my desire. But I love you more. So I give up what I love for what you love.’

Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) was asked: Which one is better for the servant [of Allah], istighfar [seeking Allah’s forgiveness in prayer] or tasbeeh [glorifying Allah in prayer]? He answered: If a dress is clean, then incense and rose water are better, and if it is dirty then soap and water is better. tasbeeh is the incense of the pure ones, and istighfar is the soap of the sinners.

Oh Allah, relieve my ummah of depression, anxiety, hate, jealousy, and heartbreak and fill the believers hearts with thoughts of you and let us die not except in a state of submission, a state of Islam. Ameen.

Nothing heals the heart better than the speech of Allah (the Qur`ān), and reflecting upon its āyāt is the first step towards healing your heart.

I choose you. And I’ll choose you, over and over and over. Without a pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I’ll keep choosing you.

Even if you’re unemployed, even if you’re taking time off from school, even if nobody is calling and making plans with you, get out of bed, take a shower, put on clean clothes, wear some cologne or perfume, turn all the lights on, do some laundry, clean up a little bit.
Doing all this stuff causes a shift in your perspective. Do it in spite of your situation.
That’s the only way to create sustainable happiness, because if your behavior is dictated by your circumstances, you’re always going to be miserable. Don’t let the world determine your mindset. Let your mindset determine how you view the world.
I am homesick for a place I am not sure even exists. One where my heart is full. My body loved. And my soul understood.

Two easy actions that lead to Jannah
Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
“There are two acts that no Muslim worshipper does consistently but that he will enter Jannah. And though they are easy, only few people perform them:
a) After each of the (five) prayers, say:
• tasbeeh [Subhan Allah] ten times • tahmeed [Alhumdulillah] ten times • and takbeer [Allahu Akbar] ten times
This makes 150 (daily extollments) by tongue, and 1500 (good deeds) in the Scale.
b) Upon going to bed, say:
• takbeer [Allahu Akbar] 34 times • tahmeed [Alhumdulillah] 33 times • and tasbeeh [Subhan Allah] 33 times
This makes 100 (extollments) by tongue, and 1000 (good deeds) in the Scale. So who among you would commit 2500 sins in one day (to counter that)?”
Narrated by Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i // Verified to be authentic by Shaykh al-Albani رحمه الله in Sahih ut-Targeeb wat-Tarheeb #606
