i agree wholeheartedly with that council critical post. i get frustrated seeing people defend the council and question people who "decided to kill them" to me, it was a choice between saving a few politicians (and whoever was on board their ship) who had done almost nothing and actually been a big obstacle in trying to protect innocent lives, and saving significantly more innocents. in my opinion the council had done nothing to justify their lives over tons of innocents

Uh. I like reading all discussions about the Council. I tend to think they’re not as bad as we are led to believe, but they had their flaws. Tbh, I’m more critical of the system than the people themselves; so I don’t think this system with the Council can or should last long but I have nothing against ME1′s Councilors. 

That decision at the end is another thing, though. Each Shepard has to make their own choice, according to their overall strategy and beliefs (no matter how brutal that sounds).

I agree that the Council isn’t a shining example of a galactic UN or something, but it has done alot to ensure the relative peace and stability of the galaxy. That and under their leadership only two galactic wars had broken out in a period of over two thousand years (and both conflicts were not exactly the council’s fault…nothing they could do would make peace with a mind twisted by the Leviathans).

Most complaints about the council seem to be based on a confusion about their role. In the end, the council is merely a formal agreement to cooperate between different governments…and they exercise very little control compared to that exercised by earth powers over those within their sphere of influence for example. There are certainly complaints which can be made about the system, but it is perhaps the best government one could expect for such a wide and diverse galaxy. And remember that membership is voluntary…you can always leave, if you don’t feel you’re getting a good deal.

And really, especially Humans have been treated great by the Council. The council’s actions during the First Contact war for example were highly commendable. Despite the Turians being the most militarily powerful of their members, the council stepped in and not only stopped them from avenging a military embarassment but made them pay reparations too. Whether this was because of a sense of justice, or a more pragmatic realisation of humanities potential, it is certainly to their credit. And I really don’t think Citadel association includes any sort of mutual defense agreement. They are always passive when single colonies are attacked. Asari, salarians, humans…it doesn’t matter. After all, when salarian and asari colonies were attacked by the batarians, the Council obviously felt no pressure to intervene there either, same with Eden Prime.

Ah. I really do not want to start a long argument about the Council, but the Council doesn’t fully represent this diverse galaxy. There are more than three species in the galaxy, and even if you have different governments and embassies, some species still aren’t as represented as they should be. 

From the codex: “Associate members may bring issues to the attention of the Council, though they have no input on the decision." 

Think about all the species who don’t have a seat, and what it means to get one. Think about the Council having control of the Spectres, who only answer to the Council and no one else. Seriously, when it’s time to make a quick decision, three people have a voice. Three. I really don’t think this is the best government one could get for a “diverse” galaxy (even if bigger isn’t always better but that’s another debate).

Hi there, I"m just new to this community and a friend gave me the advise to ask for helo here. I am planning to cosplay a titan from destiny, but it will be my first time doing this. That is why I want to ask you if you have any tips and tricks to do this? I have no clue on what to do and I would really appreciate your support. thanks anyways.

Well if you need the basics of building and want to purely build it yourself I recommend you watch tutorials from Punished Props, Evil Ted, and Da Frontline Troopa on YouTube. What you'll need for materials would be a utility knife (an extendy one) and various thickness EVA foam which look like puzzle floor mats, and craft foam for details. Wish I could be of more assistance but I don't have my own tutorials yet but id you ever need anything built if it's too hard I would love to help build it with you either over skype or I can show you how it's done and send you videos of it.Hopefully that answers your question :) I hope it turns out well and Id love to see how it goes!
