Lev Livet - The Scandinavian Experience

Lev Livet (Live Life in Norwegian) is a magazine publication as well as accompanying ad campaign to promote travel to Scandinavia to Singaporeans.

This magazine is part of my SP1 Project in which I received a mock design brief by my client Singapore Airlines to design a travel experience to promote Scandinavia as a travel destination for Singaporeans. I chose to focus on the beauty of Scandinavia, and my magazine is a show of that, with a minimalist layout design to keep from distracting from the photos.

Illustration - Little Brother

A personal illustration I did in my spare time featuring characters from on of my stories. The story’s about a young angel who finds an abandoned baby demon and takes him back home as a new adopted brother. Here, the scene shows the little brother reaching for his older brother playfully, completely unaware of their differences despite tension between angels and demons.

Linocut - SJ50

A linocut design I did for my Tactile Design assignment celebrating 50 years of Singapore-Japanese relations, which, being someone with a love for fantasy and myths, I used the ‘mythical’ animals of both countries to depict, (a kitsune and ‘lion’ respectively).

Infographic Design - Singapore Population Trends

This piece was done as per my Information Design’s module assignment where we had to choose a category of statistics from the 2013 Population Trends of Singapore and design an infographic with it.

I chose to to marriage statistics, and designed the infographic to have an airy, romantic feel, much like a wedding invitation.

Book Cover Design - Animal Farm

A book cover design I did for the book, ‘Animal Farm’, in the style of Russian Constructivism, the style common in the communist Soviet Union era the book’s is an allegory for. It was done as per my Graphic Stylisation class.

Singapore Design Week Poster

This project was created for a typography assignment whereby we had to design a poster for Singapore Design Week with a chosen theme.

My chosen theme was 'Ripples', as I believe that new design trends are something that starts small, but impactful, which causes a wave of change across the field of design, like a stimulus leading to a ripple.

Song Lyrics Typography

A typography assignment I did whereby I had to pick a set of song lyrics and make a poster out of it. My chosen song was “Angel with a Shotgun” by The Cab.

Graphic Stylisation Portrait

This project was part of a Graphic Stylisation assignment where we had to divide our portrait into quarters and stylise each quarter with a different art style from a chosen art movement.

My choices were Pop Art, Art Nouveau, Cubism and Russian Constructivism.

A clay sculpture I made for my Design Fundamentals module to explore the 3D form. I tried to tell a story with it with two cats as characters.
