sweet creature we're running through the garden where nothing bothered us but we're still young I always think about you and how we don't speak enough and we started two hearts in one home I know, it's hard when we argue we're both stubborn I know.

“i can’t wait to start a family.” he says, feeling his chest tighten. they had a long way to go and joshua was way too in love with his career at the moment to drop everything for a family, but the thought was exciting. “you say that like you don’t take a billion pictures of her a day, nate.”

“we’re gonna have such a perfect family one day. you’re gonna be an amazing father.” he smiled at the thought. he knew those realities would come any time soon, but knowing it was one day going to happen was enough for him. “you’re right. i’m a little obsessed with taking her picture. i can’t help it she’s so cute though. everything she does just makes me want to take another picture or video so we always have it.”

lily smiles against his lips before chasing his when he pulls away with a few more. “i always miss you, that’s never going to change.” she smiles before sighing. “don’t worry about me, you have a job to do and i’m more than happy that you’re spending your time doing that and working hard.”

“even when i’m right here? you’re still missing me?” he asked her between stealing more kisses. “just like you’re always going to miss me, i’m always going to worry about you, lily. i always want to make sure you’re okay and you’re happy. that’s what’s most important to me in life.” he brushed her hair back gently. “i can work hard during the day, but make sure i’m home for my girlfriend at night.”

chris lets out a soft chuckle as he gave her a few more kisses on her neck before pulling out to look at her. “why not? you’re cute when you blush.” he says before leaning in to press a few kisses to her cheek. “so fucking beautiful.”

“i look silly.” she said in refute. as he kissed her cheek, she couldn’t help the smile that appeared on her lips. josie’s hand moved between them, slowly rubbing over the bulge in his pants. “you’re perfect. the most handsome man i’ve ever seen.” josie said, dishing the compliments right back to him.

“yeah? well that means i’m just going to have to go bigger and better every single year to compare to this one.” he teases before blushing slightly at her words. “you might have mentioned it once or twice.” he says as she’s pinching his cheeks. “and i loved them, grace.” mason explains with a soft smile. “honestly, they’re exactly what i wanted and they mean a lot to me, i promise.”

“they aren’t very romantic gifts, really. unlike tonight, where you put on the more romantic date i’ve ever been on.” grace looked at him, her hand moving to hold his. “i’m gonna do better next valentine’s day.” the girl said with a soft smile, liking the promise that they’d get to celebrate another valentine’s day together in the future. “i guess the socks could be kinda romantic, if you’re the type that likes wearing socks when you’re getting down and dirty in the bedroom.” she said teasingly, wiggling her eyebrows.

“it’s kind of embarrassing but it’s fine.” he chuckled as they walked, looking up at his boyfriend with a smile. “she is, i don’t know how to turn back time but all i want is for her to stay a little puppy forever. although i still love her the same if not more than before.”

“if you think this is embarrassing, just wait until we maybe have kids one day.” he said with a little laugh. he liked thinking about his future with josh and the prospect of having a family together. “she’s getting to the awkward puppy stage where her body isn’t proportionate but it’s so damn cute. we need to make sure we take lots of pictures. i don’t ever want to forget her like this.”

she laughed at his joke right before he joined her, letting out a hum as she felt him wrap his arms around her and pull her in. “don’t thank me, it’s what i’m here for.” she explains but she feels content with the recognition he gives her. “that sounds nice, we can start planning something soon.” she says, making sure the blanket is tight against them before she nuzzled her face into his bare chest, wanting to feel the warmth of his skin. “i’ve missed you.”

noah couldn’t explain how much he was enjoying just getting to be with the girl, relaxing and not thinking about anything but one another. “no more missing me. i’m right here.” he said softly, tilting her head carefully to press a light kiss to her lips. “i’m gonna make sure i’m around more now. now that i have a grip on my new job, i can make more time to be home and get work done faster.”

he liked how slow they kept it, mostly just wanting to feel the other’s lips against his. he can’t help his hips moving slightly against her, she just worked him up even when she didn’t mean to. he pulled out of the kiss, just barely, his lips trailing to her jaw then her neck to press kisses against it, resisting the urge to leave marks. “beautiful.” he whispered.

she let a soft moan escape from her lips as she felt his hips pressing against hers. her legs slightly tightened around him, wanting to keep him as close as possible, not losing contact. as his lips moved to her neck, her head rested back against the chair, enjoying the feeling of him kissing her. “don’t make me blush.” she whispered with the faintest grin on her lips.

he raises his eyebrow when he sees that she got up but lets out a laugh as she moves to sit next to him, his hand moving to intertwine with hers. “that was adorable.” he said, leaning over to kiss her forehead right before the waitress came to take their order. when she left mason gave her hand a squeeze and looked back over at her. “tonight’s been amazing, grace. happy belated valentine’s day.” 

she leaned slightly into him as he kissed her forehead. as he spoke to her, she turned just slightly, enough to get a better view of him. “it’s been the best valentine’s day ever.” her eyes studied the male’s features. “you’re so handsome. have i ever told you just how handsome you are.” she said, only half teasingly, reaching up to give his cheek a gentle pinch. “I feel bad you did all of this for me...and all I got you for valentine’s day was a journal and some new sicks, like you wanted for christmas, but I wasn’t around to get for you.”

“we’re becoming those dog parents aren’t we?” he asked, before he feels honey tugging the leash as they go outside. josh makes sure he has a good handle on her before he intertwines his fingers with his boyfriends. “no, i just thought we could just walk around. it’s a beautiful day out, just kind of wanted to get lost with you and honey.”

“we really are.” he answered with a laugh. nate looked over at josh as he spoke. “i like that idea. we can just follow honey’s lead wherever you wants to go.” the man smiled softly, giving his hand a small squeeze. “she’s getting so big already. she needs to stop growing up.”

“maybe but you’re my boyfriend, aren’t i allowed?” she teased back, letting out a slight giggle. “impossible but i’ll let you have it.” lily says right before he kissed her. “you deserve some rest, you’ve had some late nights.” she says. jumping slightly at he pats her butt before they walk to their bedroom. lily quickly drops her towel and grabs one of noah’s (huge) t-shirts, slipping it over her body before she makes her way into their bed, cuddling up to the blankets as she waits for him.

“you are allowed. honestly i’d be pretty offended if you didn’t look at me like a piece of meat.” he said with a little laugh. once in their bedroom, noah grabbed a pair of boxers to quickly slip on before getting into bed next to her. his arm wrapped around her, pulling her in closer before bringing the blankets up over both of them. “thank you for tonight. it’s been absolutely perfect.”he said, kissing the top of her head.” he rubbed her back slowly as they laid there together. “i know we should be saving our money and thinking of bigger plans, but i feel like we should take a vacation soon. get out of here and see somewhere new.”

chris smiled before he nodded, leaning down to press a kiss against her lips. his hands traveled down from her hips to her legs, wrapping them around his waist pull himself closer to her before his hands moved to her hips. he kept the kiss slow, lazy almost, but giving them room to just enjoy being with each other. 

josie’s legs wrapped around his waist effortlessly, keeping their body’s close together. the girl could never express just how much she loved chris. it was more than words would ever be able to capture. as they laid their kissing one another, she let her lips move against his instinctually. her hands rested at his shoulders, slowly kissing the man on top of her.

it scared mason beyond belief how much he cared about grace, but how uncertain his future was. he hopes that he has more time to commit to her, and even if things got hectic they’d be able to make it work. at her words, his chest tighten because she was right. he never realized how much he missed her and being with her until she was back. maybe his grief had pushed it so far down he wasn’t able to really think about it, but now that they were here, he realized all the moments he wished they were still together. “i’m glad you feel the same way, i’m going to be honest i’ve been a nervous wreck since the first time we saw each other.” he explains, his gaze averting from hers. “it’s been really nice to be with you again, i don’t –… i’m glad we’re working on something.”

she smiled softly to herself as mason spoke. she knew how nervous she had been when she saw him for the first time since their breakup. she had wanted to play it cool and try to keep it under wraps how much she had missed him, but now there was no point in keeping any of that a secret. “i’ve been really nervous too. it’s hard sometimes. and i’m sure it’s never going to be perfectly easy, but i’m really glad we’re trying.” grace got up and moved to sit down beside him. “tonight we’re gonna be the annoying people that sit on the same side of the table, because I want to be next to you.”

“you’re lucky you’re really cute.” he says right as the other kisses his cheek. “ooooh that sounds delicious, do you know they make dog treats too? we can buy some for honey.” josh can’t help but smile as he sees the other petting their dog. “i’ve got it, you can walk her on the way back.”

“Well then we have to buy a bunch for our little girl.” he said, standing back up. “sounds good. teamwork.” he opened their front door, letting josh and the dog walk out before him. “have a planned route for us to take today, my love?” he asked, grabbing the boy’s free hand.

“disgusting.” she teases as she sees them, letting out a laugh before they got out of the bath, grabbing the towel and wrapping it around her body. she can’t help but look the boy up and down for a moment before smiling. “i’m thinking that you’re so fucking good looking, and how much i’ve missed you.” lily says, moving her hands to wrap around his waist, placing her chin on his chest and looking up. “but i guess we should start thinking of movies too.”

he rolled his eyes teasingly at her words. “are you checking me out right now? like i’m some piece of meat?” he questioned teasingly. “I missed you more.” noah said softly, leaning forward to kiss the girl. “you can pick the movie. knowing me i’ll probably fall asleep halfway through anyway.” he gave her butt a little pat before guiding her back into their bedroom.

josie thought about it for a minute, knowing what she wanted. “just keep kissing me.” she whispered to him, arms wrapping around to keep him close.

mason was scared going into this, if he was honest. being with grace again was terrifying because he had messed it up all those years ago. sure, it was probably for the best since it led them to where they were now, but it doesn’t help that he felt this pressure to fix everything. when he felt their fingers interlock he gave her a squeeze back, a smile on his features. “you make me happy too, grace, and i told you that i want to do this slow and right and i’m going to keep that promise.” he brings her hand up and softly kisses her knuckles. “i’m glad we have each other again.”

grace knew she was taking a risk in trying things again with mason. she trusted him, but it was hard to say whether or not things would get hectic for him again and he’d need to step back from whatever they were developing here. “i’m so glad we have each other, too. even if we’re just slowly working towards something here, it’s nice knowing i have you back in my life. having you to talk to after a long day. it’s just nice.” grace said with a shrug. “i didn’t know how much i missed all of this until you came back.”

“babeeee.” josh called out as he held honey’s leash, waiting for the other to come down the stairs. “if your cute little butt isn’t downstairs in two minutes then me and honey are going on a walk without you.” he calls out, waiting for the other boy. nate was lucky josh loved him more than life itself or else he’d actually be annoyed. “also, can we stop at that bakery on 5th? i want to try those cupcakes we saw.”

as nate heard josh calling out for him, he was rushing down the stairs, still slipping into his shoes and jackets. “i’m here, i’m ready. sorry, my love. nate walked up to the boy and kissed his cheek. “of course we can. I say they had peanut butter cup cupcakes the other day and i just need to get my hands on it.” he said with a little smile before leaning down to pet their dog. “Want me to take the leash or have you got it?”
