reviewing everything today - almost done this semester! 🎉
When reviewing for nursing I print off the outline and highlight what I know and then review what I don’t! The professors make the test based on that outline, so it only makes sense to review directly off of it!

“Go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”
— Kurt Vonnegut (via quotemadness)
reasons to not quit writing:
your writing is a skill, not an inborn talent (unless, yeah, maybe it is). not everyone can do what you do and love
everyone says they want to write a book. everyone has what it takes to write a book. not everyone does it anyway. you be the small percentage of success you read about
your writing will always seem brickshit horrible because you wrote and read it a million times
you love this writing thingy. quitting it will be like cutting off your fingers one by one.
someone out there will want to read what you wrote.
someone out there wants to know what is on your mind.
someone out there appreciates your art. they will share it with their friends. they will share it with their loved ones. they will share it with their future self because maybe what you wrote saved them.
if you give up now, you know you will just come back to it again, whether it’s years from now, months, or next week. you love writing, that’s why you planted the seed of thought that you are going to write this book, and whether you come back to it or not, your unwritten stories will come back to you.
Back at uni and things are getting buuuuusy again! 📝It’s been weird getting used to working and studying simultaneously and my body is ~struggling~ but I’m always up for a challenge.

I don’t really watch Grey’s Anatomy but I had to publish this one (even if I’m sure it already exists here on tumblr!) Don’t be afraid to pursue your dreams because you’re a woman. You are strong and your values aren’t inferior to anyone else’s. Happy women’s day
!
2018 will be the year you…
Re-gain self confidence, love yourself, be independent, take risks, surround yourself with pleasant energy with love and light, and make adventures
I hate glamorizing over-working. It’s not healthy. The fact that there are so many people going without sleep, food, personal hygiene (not to mention time for relaxation, personal time, and socialization, which are very necessary for mental health) just to stay afloat is not something to be celebrated or applauded. It’s a problem, not a goal that all good employees should aspire to, or a norm everyone should be expected to perform.

The Houses as Authors
Slytherin: Intentionally kills readers’ favorite characters; names unlikable characters who are jerks after people who have hurt them, possibly letting that character meet an awful death; writes cliffhangers that frustrate the readers endlessly
Ravenclaw: Intricate plots that must be carefully read (and written) for everything to be understood; symbolism in names or events early in the story that are important later; unexpected betrayals
Gryffindor: A great amount of action or adventure; bold, strong protaganists who can fight and defend themselves; playful relationships between several main characters
Hufflepuff: Well-written relations between characters; using deep, complex characters to drive the story rather than fitting characters to the plot; having potent emotions throughout the story that play a significant importance
Any other Gryffs out there?

Hello I’m back in university (actual translation: I kinda wanna cry)
11.02.2018 // I’ve been working five days-a-week as a teacher since New Year but this week I get to take a week off. This morning I cycled into central Oxford for breakfast and when I got back the sun was shining through the windows in my room so I decided not to go to the library but to sit here and work instead. ☀️☀️☀️
