Balcony Garden for Small Spaces
This was my second year gardening out in our little balcony and one thing I knew for sure we needed to do: plant up!
We have a mix of edibles, flowers and annuals with interesting foliage. With mostly black and white planters, I accented one corner with brass pots to give a little kick.

Phalaenopsis “Moth Orchid”
A few shots from the end of last summer of the Mister’s orchid (his speciality!). This is our oldest plant and has faired amazingly well during the winter. I’ll be posting an updated photo this summer.

The Malabar chestnut Pachira aquatica
Also known as "money tree." This common indoor plant is thankfully non-toxic to cats - which is great because Odin loves chewing on the leaves.

Plant-Filled Workspace Corner My daily distraction
If you don't know already, I work from home and this is my most frequently looked at corner because it's right beside my computer desk.
I've been slowly switching around my plant decor to find the perfect match (you can see it at its plainer stages here and here).
The plants here only get medium light from a north-facing balcony, causing them to become elongated and stretched out. This is usually a no-no but I actually love the look of them.

Jelly Bean Plant Propagation
One vertically challenged stem from my group of jelly bean plants was a bit of an eyesore so I took leaf cuttings to propagate more plants.

Genus: Pachyveria
My guess is that this is a "Muelleri." I've started propagating this plant already and it's slowly growing bright pink roots and itty-bitty buds.

Hanging Planter with Crassula + Sempervivum
A beautiful small hanging planter from West Elm. I moved my crassula plant so that it could hug the walls and possibly spill over the planter as it grows. The etiolated sempervivum from a recent plant exchange also adds a different touch.
