reblog/reply to this post with your MBTI
it seems to me that a great percentage of studyblrs are INxJ, but Iâd like to see how true that is, and to find studyblrs of other types, so!! reblog!!
My notes from my first two classes in Bio 30. It's my first hand at the Cornell method! So far I really like it and predict that they will help make studying way easier.
If you need a sign to study, THIS. IS. IT.
Very cool
this is great because i try and do most of these things at one time and i end up angry so i think i will be doing this. also this design is very calm.
Behind in School? Get Back on Track in One Day
This post is for those times when you feel completely overwhelmed & incapacitated by all of the school work and life responsibilities you have to do but just donât know where to start! This might happen after procrastinating and avoiding studying for a week or maybe after youâve been sick and unable to do anything except cough and sleep. This is what works for me, and I hope it can help you!
1. Clean Up Your Study Space
Take 30 minutes to an hour tidying up your work area. My desk is in my office, so I not only clean up my desk, but also tidy my room and put away anything out of place.
Set an alarm so you donât get distracted or carried away. The goal is to take care of a lot in one day, which canât happen if you start to reorganize your closet ;)
2. List Assignments by Due Date
Make a list of any assignments which are overdue.Â
If you have a medical reason for missing these assignments, print off or get the paperwork needed for late submissions (or contact professors/ teachers via email) so you wonât receive late marks.
Now, make a list of all assignments coming up in the next two weeks in order of due date.Â
3. Create Assignment Folders
Count the number of assignments you have, and take out that number of folders. If you donât have folders, thatâs okay- you can use binder or paper clips.
For each folder, label it and then put the assignment instructions, research, notes, and anything else you have that is relevant to the assignment.Â
If you think it will take 15 minutes or less, do a bit of research for the assignments, print the research off, andÂ
Store or stack these assignment folders by due date.
CHECK IN: If you have any overdue assignments which you donât have a medical note for, stop here and complete them now. Start with the shortest ones and continue to the more time consuming assignments. You might be staying up very late today, but you can do it!
4. List Tests and Exams by Date
Make a list of all midterms, quizzes, and exams coming up in the next two weeks.
On this list, include all you know about the content of the quiz. For example, write down the lectures and textbook chapters you will be studied on, as well as any key concepts or questions you think will be covered.
5. Create Course Priorities for Studying
Start with the tests & assignments that are coming up first!
Then, look at how you are doing in each course. For example, in two of my courses I have grades back that are above 90s and one in which I have an 85. My other two classes I have an 80 and in my fifth class I have no marks yet.Â
After I finish my assignments due this week, I will start working on my Anatomy & Physiology course work and studying first because I havenât handed anything in yet so it is the most important right now! Then Iâll study for the midterm coming up in the class where I have an 80, and so on.
Now you have a clean room, know what you have coming up in the next two weeks, have all assignments organized, and have a prioritized list for studying! Feel better? I know I did! All in a dayâs work :)
Anonymous asked: Could you possibly make a list of how to avoid getting burnt out throughout the school year? Last year I was in the top eight percent for GPA as a freshman, but I was so burnt out itâs a miracle I made it through the year. Now I am a sophomore with a heavier classload, and a job plus extracurriculars. Any advice?
1. Set aside one day a week dedicated to relaxing
In college itâs rather difficult to have a day when you donât have ANY homework, but choose a day each week that you dedicate to yourself. Only do homework that absolutely needs to get done that day, then treat yourself to some time for your hobbies. Watch Netflix for hours, draw, go see a movie. A day dedicated to relaxing and staying away from academic work will really refresh you and get you ready to get back to work!
2. Alternate between academic work and non academic work during study sessions
If you have a bunch of assignments to do, donât just try to get them all done in a row without any kind of breaks. Youâll get tired and this will make your work worse and take longer. After finishing one assignment, do something that isnât related to school. Clean your room a little, take out the trash, make a snack- just do something that isnât schoolwork. This will break the monotony of studying for hours on end and youâll look forward to the short breaks in between assignments.Â
3. Remember your goals
If youâre having trouble getting an assignment done and you find yourself thinking âI donât really need to do thisâ remember what your goals are. Maybe you want a 3.0 at the end of the semester or you really want an A in that class. Itâs easy to lose track of your goals, but imagine how good it will feel to have an A at the end of the semester.Â
4. Take it one day at a time
Itâs incredibly easy to look ahead in your calendar and get stressed out about future essays and projects. That kind of stress can cause you to just want to clock out and sleep for the rest of the semester. I recommend taking the semester one day at a time. Just focus on what youâre doing now. Plan out the week, not the whole semester. Before you know it, it will be finals week and youâll have made it!
5. Become a part of a group that cares about school
This sounds stupid, but the studyblr community on tumblr is really inspiring and genuinely makes me want to do well in school. Everyone is really supportive and always posts fun pictures of what theyâre working on and being a part of a community like that really makes you want to achieve and learn.Â
The âP-E-E-Lâ Method for Essays
[P]oint ⢠State the factor or main point.
[E]xplanation ⢠Elaborate what the factor is about. Imagine youâre explaining it to someone who has not studied it. Make it as clear as possible to help him/her to understand.
[E]xamples ⢠Give examples to support your explanation.
[L]ink ⢠Connect your answer back to what the question is asking for. You should start your link in the next paragraph by clearly stating how it answers the question. Use the same phrasing shown in the question.
{how to maintain good notes}
1. Come to class with a legal pad, a pencil or pen, and a highlighter.
use only these materials to jot down lecture notes
donât worry about formatting or how neat it looks
your notes only need to be legible and somewhat organized
you can mess up on graphs/charts/diagrams
Why? The legal pad is as simple as notebooks get. You can rip out pages, you can write upside down. One pencil and one highlighter means you wonât spend any time trying to make your notes look pretty. That doesnât matter now. The only thing you need to focus on during a lecture is writing down the important information.
2. After class, revisit your notes and copy it into your notebook.
you have as much time as you need to format your notes exactly how you want
writing something down twice helps you remember it later
seeing the same thing a second time makes you ask questions about the material
helps you study now so that you have less review to do at exams
Why? I know many of you are perfectionists, so when you make a mistake on a diagram, you feel compelled to rip out the page or quit all together. Copying it into a nice notebook forces you to find the best way to format your notes and digest the lecture materials. You will have an organized notebook to refer back to when studying for exams and finals.
3. Create a table of contents and number the pages.
4. Print charts/graphs/diagrams and paste them into your notes.
excellent precision and accuracy
on scratch paper (or your legal pad!) try to recreate the diagrams as best as possible â use this to study
I hope these tips will help you keep your notebook neat and organized!
Study tip: do your homework wherever you can, whenever you can. Get it done and out of the way! Even itâs just ten minutes here and there, try to do what you can.Â
I found this life-saving Cornell Note! KOREA, WELL DONE!! So basically, this notebook pages exactly look like âcornell notes,â AND! AND! the company TakeOutNote is famous for its app that can scan the note and save it on your electric devices!
See those 4 squares around eacn corner? That helps the app to scan the notebook easily! So you just take a pic on your phone/tablet and BOOM! Your notes on your phone!
This is sooo exciting Iâm definitely buying this a lot. A LOT.
Secret Study Tips I wish somebody told me:
1: if youâre making a study guide: make it like youâre going to give it to somebody. I always make them like Iâm going to give it to Hannah. What would she need to know? Howâs the best way I can tell her this info?
2: if youâre making flash cards: donât make ones for stuff you already know just to have a complete set of 40 or something. Make 3 flash cards if 3 quick things is all you need. Make them even for subjects you wouldnât normally think youâd need them for. Chemistry concepts are great for flash cards especially those little concept hints that help direct what is happening in your reactions etc
3: Stop after a few sections of reading and make sure you actually can recall what you just learned and summarize it. Did you actually learn it or did your eyes just read the words?
4: Spend more time on your homework each week and youâll need less time studying later. I cannot stress this enough. Do your homework the right way the first time. Actually struggle through the problems, get answers from your TA on the ones you canât do WEEKLY then when the exam rolls around, you wonât have 4 chapters you kinda understand and a million level 1 practice problems you need to complete so youâll have more time for practice exam level questions.
5: Make up your own study games. I love to make up flash card games when I get tired of a subject.
My 5 Tips for keeping your attention in class.
My 5 Tips for keeping your attention in class.Â
If you suffer from A.D.D./A.D.H.D. (like myself) or just daze off in general you have probably found yourself frustrated at the fact that when it comes to doing homework and tests you donât remember anything the teacher has said. Or you find when you sit down, ready for class, an hour has past, class is done and you remember nothing! Well Iâm going to give you my 5 pointers that has really helped me pay attention and really helped me improve as a student.
1 - Sit up in the front of the class. Not just sorta up front, the very front row! You can hear the professor perfectly, see perfectly and you canât see other students, so this helps with not getting distracted by âwhatâs that crazy guy wearing this time!â Not only that youâll be less tempted to do distracting things, like using your phone or doodling. This is the NUMBER 1 tip I can give you!Â
2 - When at school phone is off or muted (if it must be on) then put it at the bottom of your backpack. (Make it hard to get to) You can check it between classes.Â
3 - Constantly be taking notes. Write everything the teacher is writing down. Now I know how my brain works, I can take down perfect notes and be thinking about that embarrassing conversation I had with someone last week but if I do that I wonât remember what the professor said. Best way to combat your multi-tasking brain. Repeat the words (under your breath or in your head) Â as you write them down, itâll help keep your brain in one place.Â
4 - USE COLORFUL PENS! People who live with attention disorders tend to get bored easily, it result in a lot of doodling in my experience, so how do you keep that creative itch at bay or keep class from getting stale? I use colorful pens for all my notes. My notebook looks like a rainbow is taking mathematics but it keeps me interested, it can help me break down complicated equations or I can use the color pink for definitions and blue for important bits of info. By using colors it helps make note taking more interesting, and switching colors keeps you engage because you need to pay attention to what colors to use.
5- Be interactive in class. Make it your goal, to ask questions and contribute to discussions. In order to ask questions or contribute you have to keep your attention in the class! Use that to your advantage!Â
These tips have helped me really succeed in college but you have to have the drive to do so!Â
How To Take Lecture Notes
The professors sometimes ask for students to print out lecture slides or take notes before class, so here are some ideas on what to do before, during, and after the lecture. Of course, these donât have to be followed exactly as written, so you can use what works best for you. :)

men are so afraid of confident girls and its so funny
literally I was talking to a boy that I work with today about my ex and he goes, âwaitâŚâŚyouâve had a boyfriend?âŚâŚbut youâre so knowledgable and donât care about what anyone thinks about you.â and like that literally proves that boys are scared of girls who are confident
