Absently hovering in place, Eve’s gaze was fixated upon a delicate plant; a small, white lily that she had picked up before hand. She intently studied it, her blue pixels gave a slight furrowed brow. Scanning it, her inners let out a soft ding. Accordingly, there came a second beep. Then a third.
Interesting. A white lily? Who would’ve thought that these things were still aro-
Letting out a high pitched hum, Eve’s head perked up at the call of her name. Turning her head, her eyes flickered towards the source of the noise. Narrowing her eyes a little, confusion washed over her dark monitor.
However, knocking that clear perplexed look off her face, her overly excited companion practically almost tackled her back onto the ground. She let out a startled squeal from her machinery. Swiftly raising a hand, she grasped the edge of her spinning head. “.. Wa.. Wall-E?? Plaaaant???” She squeaked out.
Giving a small involuntary pause, her confusion had quickly shifted towards their beloved Roach. Feeling the tiny bug’s feet scamper all over her metallic covering, she couldn’t help but let out a surprised chuckle. Oh, there’s that famous laughter they all knew and loved!
Still, easing in a giggly breath of air, the giggly robot tried to cease her laughter. Flickering her attention back towards Wall-E, she tilted her head a little. “Pla.. Plant?” She choked out, in between her fit of laughter. “Where??”
How could he not be excited to see her? Eve was the most wonderful thing in his universe! Why-- until he laid eyes on her, he had no idea what those humans in the film felt. Then-- he did. What another would call an error or flaw-- Eve called per-son-ality. Wall-E had no idea what it meant, but he didn’t care.
Whenever she talked, it was like a melody. He wanted to hear more of it-- all of it. Forever.
His eyes wiggled at her giggle as he tapped his claws together. She flustered him so-- making his processes all muddy and confused whenever she was around. It was as if he couldn't’ stay on task so long as she was in the room. Which made sense, far as he was concerned. While she was nearby he couldn’t think of anything but her.
“Plant! Eva! Plaaaaaant!” He reached out, taking one of her sleek hands in his own as he tugged her along. The lily was completely unnoticed by him. It wasn’t plant. It was just some colorful thing. No no-- plant was what Eva liked most!
He scampered over the rocky earth, slowly waking from its centuries long slumber, grass sprouting here and there. It was green. So much green.
He rolled past the children who excitedly waved at him while they played in the mud. Finally he stopped before a field. A whole bunch of plant. Green and fresh and new. Ready to grow.
Looking to his companion, he whispered almost reverently. “Plant.” His chassis opened, revealing the boot their plant once housed. He held it up for her. “Plant!”
