I haven't seen the ATLA movie yet, okay? I've decided to watch it on opening day. But believe me, this is harder than I thought. My Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok are full of edits and spoilers (at this point, I think I've already seen the whole movie thanks to all that), so without having seen it... First, I'm 100% sure that Zukka obviously wasn't made canon (explicitly). What do I mean by that? Maybe they didn't confirm or deny anything about Zukka. I mean, maybe it is canon, but they just didn't delve into it or give it much attention, and instead, they gave us tiny crumbs. Obviously, everything I'm saying is probably wrong, but imagine that possibility! That out of nowhere, they officially release the movie, and a few days later, Paramount or Avatar's official account says something like, "Yes, those two definitely have something." I'd be blown away! I'll leave this post pinned and when I see the movie on opening day I'll reply saying whether I was right or not (Also note that I haven't seen anything about Suki appearing in the film.
Omegaverse AU Zukka!! (because I need to distract myself and not fall into the temptation of watching the leaked movie)
I'm surprised I haven't found a decent Zukka omegaverse AU yet. This ship has literally been around for YEARS, and I've been shipping them and searching for decent fanfics of this AU since 2022 (clearly without success). So let me create some Zukka omegaverse headcanons to feed myself!
• Zuko is a dominant omega, a fact not revealed until his introduction at the young age of 13. Ozai is horrified to see that his son (and heir to the throne) turns out to be an omega. Months pass, and Zuko makes the mistake of speaking out of turn at their meeting, using this as an excuse to banish him (claiming he banished him for losing his Agni Kai, though this was merely a pretext, and Zuko was actually banished for being an omega).
•From a young age, it was clear that Sokka would be an alpha; his outgoing personality gave him away. Therefore, when Hakoda left the Water Tribe, he placed his complete trust in Sokka, knowing that once his alpha instincts fully developed, he would be a great leader who would guide his tribe forward.
•When Zuko arrives at the Water Tribe to capture Aang (Zuko is 16 years old and Sokka is 15. ), both of them already have their instincts 85% developed. When they face each other, they both feel that familiar urge (the typical feeling an alpha or omega experiences when meeting their soulmate), but simply caught up in the excitement of the moment, they decide to ignore it. Clearly, every time Zuko finds them again, they both feel that urge, which leaves them with more questions than answers.
•When Zuko joins Team Avatar, everything intensifies for the two of them. Sokka's alpha instincts worsen, demanding that he protect the omega in one way or another, even though he knows Zuko is capable of defending himself. The same happens with Zuko; his omega instincts plead with him to let the alpha love him, to cling to his body and submit. Obviously, Zuko's dominant nature and pride prevent him from doing so.
•On the day of Sozin's Comet, Sokka panics a little knowing Zuko will have to face his completely unhinged alpha sister, but he's confident everything will be alright since he knows Zuko is anything but weak. When it's all over and he sees Zuko again with Azula's lightning attack still affecting his body, he feels his inner alpha go completely wild. So, for the first time, he listens to his instincts and goes straight to hug Zuko and cover him protectively with his scent. Zuko obviously knows what Sokka is thinking, so he makes it very clear that he's okay thanks to Katara's help.
•Years pass, and Zuko is now the Fire Lord, with Sokka as ambassador and representative of the Southern Water Tribe. This leads to a situation where they can no longer control their instincts whenever they see each other. One day, Zuko can't bear it any longer and decides to talk to Sokka about it. He realizes that everything he's felt all these years is mutual and not just his omega hormones playing tricks on him . They consult with Aang, who tells them the legend of soulmates, leaving them astonished by the parallels to their own situation. After this revelation, they both take some time to reflect. A few weeks pass, and Sokka clarifies his feelings for Zuko, deciding to begin courting him.
•Zuko happily accepts his courtship, and it's safe to say these are the most tender months he's experienced in years. Sokka sends him flowers and letters, invites him to meals, and when he visits the Water Tribe, returns with a mountain of gifts for Zuko. Finally, he concludes his courtship with a carved engagement necklace, asking Zuko to be his omega and requesting permission to mark him during his next heat, which Zuko, with tears in his eyes, accepts, giving him a deep kiss and smiling tenderly as they part.
Just chiming in to say that the ATLA movie getting leaked the way it did is downright EMBARRASSING.
We got two separate scenes leaked before an official poster? Before a teaser or full trailer? Before AN EXACT RELEASE DATE??
The only content we've gotten from this movie so far has been leaks-- first that leaked image from 2023, then the leaked Target merch, and now this. For many fans, these leaks are how they're learning that this movie even exists, which just shows how terrible (aka truly nonexistent) the marketing for it has been so far.
Besides a title and logo, the only other news about the movie was that it was being pulled from theaters to be shown on Paramount Plus, which is another dumb decision. This is Avatar we're talking about! Its resurgence during the pandemic proved that the fandom was alive and well and the franchise was still full of potential, but noooo, they had to move this stunning, hand-drawn animated, made-for-theaters movie to streaming because there's not enough of an audience 🙄
Paramount and Nickelodeon have literal GOLD in their hands and then they refuse to do anything with it?? It's so frustrating and absurd, like how do you fumble this badly??

Wow, I'm truly surprised every time I open Tumblr and see the amount of interaction I get. I've never had so many likes on multiple posts. Zukka really did a great favor for my account.
It cracks me up to see new Zukka fanart, go to the comments, and see people saying things like, "Wow, they're fast," implying that Zukka is a new ship that started because of the leaked movie. When the ship is actually MUCH older. I don't really know when the ship originated, but I'd bet it's been around since the original series.

it's not our fault it got leaked but totally yours
we're talking about a fandom that has raised generations and is one of the most loved ones, of course everyone is going to watch the leaked one
i doubt that if it got a theatrical release with the leak that there won't be any earnings, people that have already watched it will want to experience the finalized material on a big screen and there are plenty out of there who haven't watched it
tiktok has been flooded with tiktoks yet there isn't one talking about the plot just how hot the characters are (we need to talk about how hot zuko is but that is another post I'm afraid
i also saw somewhere that they were also preparing movies for the other characters as well (zuko, sokka, toph, etc) and now they'll be cancelled due to this film's leak
idk what paramount is getting out of all of this but to me it looks like they just wanted to give up the atla project and in order to do that to ruin its box office. idk. it looks sketchy to me and us, the viewers, shouldn't be blamed
Believe me, I'm incredibly scared that neither the official ATLA account nor Paramount has said absolutely ANYTHING about the leak of the entire movie. It's like, they literally just leaked the ENTIRE movie on Twitter and over 10 MILLION people have already seen it 6 months before the official release, and you're seriously not going to say anything? I don't know whether to be outraged or terrified. In moments like these, I just think how cool it would be if Paramount came along and said, "Oh yeah, the movie leaked... well, the plot twist is that that 'movie' was just a decoy and we have a completely different movie that is the real one. You all looked like fools for actually believing that was the real movie!" It would be too good to be true.
