And I made a petrel ref sheet!
I really like how it turned out. I might tweak the colors a little here and there - possibly - but generally said, yes. This is me.
I want to clear up some confusion on the last post. When I repost stuff, I sometimes tend to simply adapt the tags of the op. The last post had the tag "i'm transgender btw". That got some creatures confused, for a reason. I am not transgender, not that I know of at least. I'm a cisgender ace tomboy. :)
I hope this clears up the confusion!
I just found out about a bird that a) suits my experiences (they can dive as deep as 3m, their habitat suits mine and their beaks make sense) and b) they feel like me. Unmistakenly, every picture. It's called the Southern Giant Petrel.
I might have found my bird species, perhaps. Imma keep doing my researches but I am very positive.
I cant believe some people.
"Transspecies are a mockery of transgender people!"
Maybe you're just a self absorbed prick who hears trans and automatically thinks it relates to your gender
Harsh words but I agree.
"Physical therianthropy doesn't make sense."
A reminder: Identity doesn't have to make sense at all. Identity just is. And if it's not holding up with your ideas of identity, that's fine. As long as it doesn't harm you, why making a fuss? Keep calm and move on.
Added the puffin to my list!
Habitat
They inhabit cold waters in the North Atlantic. The can appear in Eastern Europe, Artic fringes and North America when breeding and may enter the Arctic Circle. "In the summer, their southern limit stretches from northern France to Maine and in the winter, the birds may range as far south as the Mediterranean Sea and North Carolina." (Animalia.bio)
Diet
They're carnivorous, feeding on fish, shrimp, other crustaceans, mollusks and bristle worms.
Lifestyle
"Atlantic puffins spend most of the year far from land in the open ocean and only visit coastal areas to breed. They are sociable birds and they usually breed in large colonies. However, when out at sea, they prefer to stay solitary and bob about like a cork, propelling themselves through the water with powerful thrusts of their feet. When fishing, puffins swim underwater using their wings as paddles to "fly" through the water and their feet as a rudder." (Animalia.bio) - Suits me completely.
Puffins suit me even better than albatrosses. I keep doing my researches tho. If you have any other bird species that might suit my experiences, please drop me a comment or an ask!
I did comment under the albatross post, but I thought of a couple more birds if you want!
Common Murre (or any type of murre really)
Cormorant
Osprey? Maybe?
A type of Petrel?
Hopefully I was of help! These are just the first few birds that came to mind when you described your experiences :)
Ah thank you so much! I really appreciate that. Let's check them.
Common Murre
They're great swimmers and divers (suits my memories) but clumsy on land. Flying is an okay occupation for them, they're not very agile fliers. They inhabit low-arctic boreal waters in the North Atlantic and North Pacific. Only Southern populations might migrate to places such as England, California, Japan, Korea, and the western Mediterranean when winter arrives. Other populations typically don't migrate at all but stay year-round. They live in coastal, neritic, oceanic pelagic and marine zones.
"Common murres are carnivores (piscivores). They mainly eat small schooling forage fish 200 mm (8 in) long or less, such as polar cod, capelin, sand lances, sprats, sandeels, Atlantic cod, and Atlantic herring. Capelin and sand lances are a favorite food, but what the main prey is at any one time depends much on what is available in quantity. Murres also eat some mollusks, marine worms, squid, and crustaceans such as amphipods." (Animalia.bio) (checks out)
Cormorant
Cormorant were hunted nearly to extinction (that suits my memories of being hunted like wild). They're diurnal birds and are found in trees, if they're not foraging. Little time is spent for foraging, you glings need more time for that. Generally speaking, they're non-territorial and won't attack other individuals of their species, unless they're breeding.
They eat fish, crustaceans, amphibians and insect.
They inhabit Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and northeastern coastal North America. (That doesn't suit my memories.)
Petrel
The Antarctic petrel, as its name implies, lives and breeds in the Southern Ocean, and on the Antarctic islands. They nest on snow-free cliffs and rock faces, on the coast or on offshore islands. However, they have been found up to 250km inland. Another common roosting spot is icebergs. Breeding colonies during the October-November breeding period, can be as large as more than 200,000 pairs." (Animalia.bio) They inhabit Beritic zones, Oceanic pelagic zone, coastal and marine areas.
They mainly feed on krill, squid and fish (checks out), which can be obtained either from the surface or by diving into the water (memories, yes).
I didn't check for the osprey because they're not water birds, as far as I know. But here we go with the others in question. I think the Common Murre and the Petrel are the ones suiting my experiences the most. But looking at them doesn't really give me the feel of looking at me. Imma put them on the list, nonetheless! Thanks a bunch!
I deleted the other ref sheets to not confuse creatures. Wait what? Again?
I was thinking I am a duck, because that's the first water connected bird that comes to mind. But for some reason nothing felt really like me. No Pekin duck, no mallard duck, no wood duck, no call duck... But I still went with it, because I thought it's the only creature making sense. But I was so wrong.
I questioned goose in the pst for their sturdiness. They're heavy birds. But their neck is too long, at least of the geese I know.
When I played Beasts of Bermuda today, I played what I always play: Tropeognathus or Pteranodon. And I put on my duck colors. Suddenly, I felt like an albatross playing this game. It triggered something within me. Idk yet if I am really an albatross or not but it's something that I'll test out for now.
So, yeah. That's how it is right now. If you have any other animals that I should look into, please lemme know. My diet is largely carnivorous, fish and octopi and crustaceans being my nonhuman cravings.
My artfight attacks from yesterday!
If you wanna add me: Sturmvogel
Experiencing therianthropy offline is key for when you talk about your experiences online.
Part of what makes identifying as a non-human creature so wonderful is the diversity of experiences that others bring into the community.
Being a cat doesn’t look the same for every cat, for example. It’s easy to get swept up in trending songs that a popular cat therian is doing, but you aren’t required to participate as a cat yourself. Some cats don’t like fish, some cats work grueling full-time jobs, some cats identify as a cat and leave it as that.
The most powerful someone can be is at their most authentic self, and social media is a harsh landscape for being authentic. Success in numbers is a give and take - to be widely liked is to be a figure that can do no wrong, that can make everyone smile.
So don’t become taxidermy! Become alive, frothing at the mouth, let your fur be matted, let your eyes shine. Become imperfect, for the land only asks of you to live.
What if I get a metal anklet and wear it like its one of those bird identification bands
My three artfight attacks today. :)
My commissions are open! Just shoot me a dm.

I AM MY KINTYPE. That's what non-humanity is about. It's not "a strong connection", it's not only a past life or an aesthetic, it's litterally all/any/some level(s) of your identity. Who you are. What you are. You absolutely can feel human to some extent, and that's OK. But if you don't feel like you ARE your kintype on any level (which disqualifies you from non-humanity), then you are just... human
- 🐺🍂
And being a human isn't anything bad either. Don't try to fit on a label that's not suiting your experiences because you wanna be special, cause us therians are not. we're just different, individual - just as you are as a human!
And what if we started talking about psychological and spiritual therians in the same way they talk about us?
"Therians that think they're physically human."
"Therians that believe they can't shapeshift."
"Delusional therians that can't recognize their nonhuman biology."
"Therians making no effort to transition to their real form, socially or otherwise."
"Cultists that believe their soul is an animal, and that they'll be reincarnated as animals once they die."
Maybe then they'll get it, how annoying it is for others to dictate what you are just in the language they use.
10 little things I do to get therian euphoria as a bird therian <3
Perch! I have a few high-up places I love to sit to watch my surroundings
Bird watching! This one is both because I like birds, and also because smaller birds would be in my natural diet :)
Spin in circles! This is how I mimic flying. It also means that from years of doing it I no longer experience dizziness, which is a plus
Eating raw fish! As a carnivore, I find eating raw meat very euphoric, even if fish specifically isnt in my natural diet
Wearing a face mask! Like the cloth ones that cover your mouth and nose. They makes me less insecure about not having a beak. Currently, Im working on finding a way to make one that looks like my beak
Tearing my food! To mimic what id do with my beak for meals I cant swallow whole. I like doing this with tortillas and pita because they're easily shredible, bonus points if i fill them with meat
Press on pointy nails! To mimic my talons. Also theyre fun to tap on things
Head bobbing! Though this ones kind of automatic. Its used to greet others, increase depth perception, and defend territory.
Wearing an anklet! To mimic bird bands. I got this idea the other day and really like it. Currently I have a thin metal one, but I plan to get one more accurate to actual bird bands soon.
Eat insects! This one I tried for the first time today, was very euphoric. It was what inspired me to make this list! My first time eating something in my natural diet.
Of course, not all of these are bird exclusive, and some of them really only apply to birds of prey. I hope you enjoyed !!
As a duck, I can't say all of them are on point for myself, but the majority for sure is. Thank you!
QUACK! Just took a shower. Am clean duck now. Preening complete!
Not me keeping type fuck instead of duck.
