2015 came and went, hopefully you were able to make the most of it, or like me, still thinking about how quick 2014 finished, let alone worrying about this most recent year. 

I know it’s already cliché, but I can feel it: 2016 is going to be a GREAT YEAR. 

As soon as the clock strikes Midnight, and the first seconds of the New Year pass, you’re already on the clock. Make sure you are the freshest bloak at whatever joint,house,party etc. you find yourself at that night. 

Here are 3 different outfit choices for you to pick from, to guarantee you a fresh start (pun certainly intended) for the New Year!! 

OPTION 1: 

This combination is really simple, and ideally is perfect for your really akward family House party, or High School reunion at that one rich kid’s house. The best way to compliment it is by perhaps getting a crisp haircut ( that is, if your barber isn’t booked until February.)

FOR PANTS: Any pair of dark pants, jeans, slacks would be great, preferably grey.

This combination is a great combination for moving around bars, in the cold/damp weather that literally EVERYBODY is enjoying, except in Texas, where summer decided to start again, really early.

GROUND RULES FOR NO-SHAVE NOVEMBER

Scientifically speaking, November is the greatest month ever, (very lose usage of the word scientifically, btw.) 

One of the great phenomenons of November is the practice of not shaving, most of the time for the entirety of the month. First things first, beards will NEVER go out of style, but there are some common No-No’s that would lead someone to think to contrary, 

Here, you fill find a list that will demonstrate guidelines to maximize what is known as your masculinity, your beard, and things to NOT do. 

(1.) CONSULT YOUR BARBER - “I Don’t have a barber!” Then GET ONE. Once you’ve gotten one, let him outline your beard by lining up; No, this is not cheating, Keeping your beard contained and organized is whats going to keep you from looking like a Lumberjack, to looking like a hobo.

(2.) DON’T SHAVE UP TO YOUR CHIN- Probably the BIGGEST mistake, shaving up to your chin does not make you look more professional or well rounded, It makes you look like a rookie. Consult your barber from step one, to line your beard somewhere around your adam’s apple or throat, depending on the width of your beard. 

(3.) MAINTENANCE- 2 weeks into no-shave november, and you’re beginning to smell something funny; that’s you bro. Treat your beard now like how you would your hair. Apply moisturizers to keep you beard soft, and more importantly to keep your skin underneath healthy.

(4.) DON’T IMMEDIATLY SHAVE- It’s December first, and you’re ready to press the reset button on your hard work during the month of November; DON’T! Beards are great for the F/W season. Do definitely tone down if it’s obnoxious in length, but certainly don’t give up on it; No one likes a quitter.

AUTUMN ESSENTIALS

FINALLY .... it’s sweater weather. For my up north fam, I know i know .. you guys have been experiencing cooler weather for the majority of the last few months, but for us southerners, we finally fell below 70 degrees! Trust me, it’s a big deal;

Men’s guide to skincare

I get it, you were hesitant to read this post simply due to the feminine nature of the word “skincare,” and to you I say ... MAN UP. 

Proper skincare not only benefits your skin now, but also later on in your life. Who knows, maybe you go off on a bender in your latter years, and if you took proper care of your skin, you will only be half disappointed with your mugshot photo.

There is a large variety of reasons why your skin is not as vibrant as it could be, such as your diet, regimen (that is even if you have one,) and so on. Let’s start with the basics; 

(1.) ACNE - You know how the saying goes, “Never pop zits, or collars.” Maybe they don’t say that, but they should. If you’re having an acne issue, the last thing you want to do is pop them, regardless how tempting it is. Zit poppin’ can lead to scarring, which will last much longer than the original zit itself. 

Instead, it’s best to be patient; use an over the counter topical cream, toothpaste, or even pressing it with an ice cube. Most importantly, fix your diet! More water to your diet will certainly help with limiting the impurities that end up on your face. 

(2.) WATER TECHNIQUE- Before applying/using any moisturizer, it’s import to understand that the most effective time to do so is when your pours are open. 

Start by washing your face with warm water. Using your fingers, use a circular motion to help open up your clogged pours. After using your cleanser or moisturizer, rinse off with cold water so that you can close your pours with the benefits of the cleanser. 

(3.) SUN SCREEN- Excessive amount of sunlight can be damaging to your skin, and in some cases even raise the chances for certain types of skin cancer. 

Anytime you’re out by the pool, beach, or even shooting hoops in the backyard, apply sunscreen to keep your skin protected, and to prevent you from looking like someone left you in the oven for too long. 

(4.) PHARRELL’s SECRET WEAPON- Cetaphil. If Pharrell uses it, why shouldn’t you?

FATHER’S DAY

Father’s Day; otherwise known as “Oh great ... another tie ... they got me another tie that I’m never going to wear. Just smile through the pain.” 

I’m all for buying your pops a tie; just make sure you buy the right one. Chances are your dad could use some style upgrades,unless that is, your dad is David Beckham or Kanye West (if that’s the case, then what’s up Nori!)

Your dad thinks that he wants to get younger, and maybe that isn’t possible, but you can certainly help him look more aware, something i’m sure he would appreciate.
