Mao, a communist dictator leftists give a complete pass to, killed tens of millions of people. He killed more of his own people than the total military and civilians killed in all of WWII.

How did he do it?

He starved them to death. He knowingly starved them to death, by collectivizing the farms and then confiscated the food they grew. He sent his soldiers into the countryside to confiscate all the food that people depended on to keep them alive.

At the same time he was creating a famine he was INCREASING FOOD EXPORTS.

Why?

Because he wanted the money from the exported food to buy the things he thought China needed to industrialize.

He literally decided that it was perfectly acceptable to starve tens of millions of people so that they could increase their GDP.

So when leftists, socialists, communists say slogans like “people over profits”, it’s a fucking lie.
