I have no regrets in being Who I Am. It took a while to know her and understand her. I used to be concerned in how my true self affected others, so I hid pieces to make others more comfortable. Not fully understanding until recently that it serves no one any good by doing that. :: This is me and many will not agree with how I operate. And that’s OK! Don’t get me wrong - it’s not my way or the highway. I will adapt accordingly under the right circumstances. But until then you get authentically and fabulously made Kimberly. I had an interesting conversation in line at the polls yesterday. This man who lived through the 1960s in the south; who’s seen discrimination at hand, questioned why more young voters weren’t in attendance? Frustrated that even his 18 year old granddaughter who is expecting her first child said voting wasn’t important to her. :: It’s of his opinion that the youth aren’t voting because they don’t have representation of leaders. It struck me most when he said where are our ‘Martin Luther’s’, the ‘Malcolm X’s’, the strong leaders of the Civil Rights Movement to bring people together and take back what is ours; what our ancestors built for America. To finish what Obama started! :: I’ve been questioning true leadership for quite some time now and this man hit the nail on the head. People do not follow mayhem. Progress happens with order. With concrete plans all can understand and put into action. I challenge everyone to make one step in being the representation of the change we want to see. Only then will our message have meaning.
